Who on earth is so very vile by ]nature that they could trigger the use of 21 barf bags? Considering the state of the Republican party, I’m sure there must be several, but one very obvious choice is Idiot, Son of Idiot, Named after Idiot, aka Rand Paul. I promise to be merciful.
Senator Rand Paul, of Kentucky, seems to have no problem contradicting himself. The self-proclaimed "constitutional conservative" is typically lost in libertarian thought leading him to make inflammatory sexist, racist and overbearingly hypocritical comments on nearly every issue he faces. Whether he’s attempting to police women’s bodies, ignoring police brutality for stingy tobacco taxes, or speaking out against vaccines and posting himself receiving booster shots only days later, Ron Paul’s son is one politician you can unabashedly hate or enjoy laughing at.
1. When Paul spoke out against vaccines:

2. When he backed voter ID laws:

3. When he spoke out against government assistance:

The other day in the "Ban Yoga Pants" post I made a comment about a card-carrying libertarian never wanting to do that. I do NOT want to leave the impression that I'm a card-carrying libertarian – I am NOT!
I'd have to go along with Rachel Maddow when she said: "I’m undoubtedly a liberal, which means that I’m in almost total agreement with the Eisenhower-era Republican party platform."
And if you don't believe how far Rethuglicans have moved the Overton Window to the Radical Right, just take a look at the 1956 Republican Platform of Eisenhower – you'll be nodding in agreement on almost everything (scroll down a tad):

The Democrats did not do a good job of differentiating themselves either. I was not old enough to vote then, so I don't remember whether they really didn't care much. I do remember a post-election cartoon of the cleanup of Dem headquarters, signs and whatnot, with one saying to the other, "Nothing ever really did rhyme with Adlai anyway."
