Was he on pot? He said so, but that may have been a joke. In any case, here he is at his funny best. He makes some excellent points and skewers Strike Three beautifully!
In case you didn’t know, Bill Maher thinks it’s time marijuana had its day in the sun.
The comedian addressed the discriminatory nature of current U.S. weed laws on "Real Time With Bill Maher" on Friday night. While this time he didn’t have Zach Galifianakis on hand to light up a joint, he had plenty to say about the broken system.
"We should at least be honest with our kids and tell them the truth about drug laws in this country," he said. "Kids, if you’re gonna experiment, make absolutely certain that beforehand your parents are white and well-connected."…

Did Bill nail Strike Three or what?
Seriously, Bill right. People in prison for pot should be let go. One of my guys, who has since served his time and gone home, had a couple acres under cultivation on his harm. He wanted some aerial pics of his farm near the Oregon coast, so he hired the county fair helicopter to fly over the place. He did not know that the chopper pilot was also a pot spotter for the police. He used to say he was doing time for Stupidity I. For several years this guy filled a bed that could have been made available for someone dangerous.

Pot should be made legal in all fifty states.
After all, it is a natural plant.
So is deadly nightshade and hundreds of poisons.
I have nothing to add to Bill. Everything is right on. Including "the action of a cynocal turd."
Me, I wonder whether Palin is going to claim credit for Alaska having legalized recreational use.
See today's cartoon in a few.
Good one, jla!
Bill nailed the pot thing in the head! It should be legal in ALL FIFTY STATES and territories! There has been a bitching, wailing bunch of Neanderthals bitching and wailing about the deficit for the last 8 years and this would be the solution for the WHOLE deficit! If they would make it legal and tax it, we would have a SURPLUS!
Bill was on fire Friday night and I loved it!
I agree that pot should be legal in all fifty states. That would cut down on crimes, increase state revenues and quit making criminals of teenagers who try it. The sentences for drug users are very often harsher than those the drug pushers get because the pushers have more money to hire good defense lawyers.
I was just going through a list of felons for whom Canada wide warrants have been issued. A lot of these felons were doing 2 year sentences for possession of illicit drugs including marijuana. So much resources are going to be wasted on such, especially when some of the other 'at large' felons were guilty of assault, weapons offences, burglary etc.
Tax and regulate marijuana like cigarettes. In BC, a store cannot sell tobacco products to anyone under 19 years and there are hefty fines for doing so. Why not do the same with marijuana. As I am told, a 20 pack of cigarettes costs about $10 here. I tried to locate the tax rate on them but couldn't. It would not surprise me though if approximately 50% of the cost is due to various excise taxes. That's good revenue.
Bill was certainly funny!
I watched this Friday night and was hoping you would address this. I thoroughly agree with Bill. I also think President Obama should grant pardons to those serving time for Possession of Marijuana. Imagine how the prisons would empty and state coffers would be filled to spend on important programs like Education and Health Care.
The law has to be changed. The States are working on that, but the feds are lax. It doesn't help that when a State passes some sort of legal pot status, the feds keep busting people in that State. That's on Obama.
I agree with you all. I no longer smoke. I tried it a few thousand times in my youth, but didn't inhale.
Maybe you should have, and exercised your bronchi and alveoli (warring: some snark may be present).
Pleasantly pleased with Bill's passion for pot and probity.
Thank you
TY TC.
