Today I have a lot of housework chores, and I have to plan my menu and shopping list for this week. I am also suffering from Orb withdrawal. Sunday just feels incomplete.

From the New Yorker: In his weekly radio address, President Barack Obama reaffirmed his love of country, telling the nation, “I love America—even its idiots.”
Expanding on this theme, the President said, “America is made up of all kinds of people: young and old, weak and strong, smart and dumb. And when the really dumb ones get up and act like total clowns, I still love them, because they are part of America. In fact, a really big part.”
Andy and Obama can love the idiots. I’ll keep identifying them as Republicans.
From Politico: Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday the U.S. is facing more terrorist threats than ever and defunding the Department of Homeland Security would be the worst possible thing to do.
Some Republicans aren’t supporting a bill to fund the agency unless it scuttles President Barack Obama’s executive actions on immigration. But the South Carolina senator said he hopes fellow Republicans will allow the immigration issue to play out in court after a federal judge in Texas issued an injunction last week blocking Obama’s immigration actions. Graham said he supports the judge’s decision.
If Republicans fail to fund DHS, he said, they’ll get blamed as a party.
OMG! Somebody shoot me!! I agree with Lindsey Poo!!! EWWW!!!! Of course there is a reason Republicans will be blamed, if they defund DHS. It will be completely their fault!

Politico – I have been watching this play out with quite a bit of amusement. It happens to be the DHS that is on the block right now, for reasons that have nothing to do with pretty much anything whatever. Republicans have previously shown great willingness to shut down the whole Governmetn and/or any psrt of Government in order to – because Freedumb. Yet, if I personally had to pick one Government department to defund, DHS it would be. And within the DHS, I would happily dump the TSA. OK, I would give the Coast Guard back to the Treasury, so there are some valuable functions there. But overall, DHS is a testament to and a standing reminder of the Patriot Act, which I. along with many progressives, would happliy scuttle. Someone must have (a) figured this out and (b) gotten Lindsay Graham to see it.
Cartoon – Some are obvious, but some seem to have a foot in each camp. Perhaps we could apply Solomon's custody solution to them.

Graham understands that when they've sold their base on major funding for securing the border that they shouldn't refuse to fund it and keep the trust of those constituents…and the mega-donor contractors who won't get paid.

The New Yorker — I would have thought that Obama would have had "an elegant sufficiency" of clowns over the past 6 years, such that if he had more, he'd "bust". I know I have and I don't even live in the US.

I agree that defunding DHS is a lousy idea, and yes the Republicanus/Teabaggerum would take the blame if something went a miss, but let's not leave out the Bobsey Twins . . . Baby Bush and Chickenhawk Cheney. After all, they were the ones that went hunting for oil on the pretext of searching for WMDs that lead to the total chaos in Iraq. And let's not forget that Muslims in Iraq had their own philosophical differences (you know sectarian violence based of Sunni vs Shia). Lindsey Poo is trying to blame Obama for the Bush/Cheney fiasco and that is unacceptable.

Politico: This has been a rough week, but seeing Graham speak the truth improves my attitude. Frankly, I am astonished. The Republicans will probably defund the DHS because they think so many of their base will approve of their plan for immigration. After today's terrorists threats on malls in the US, they may need to change their game plan.

Sincere condolences TC on the shock of your agreeing with Lindsey Graham! If someone who persistently and joyously adheres to wrong (LG) has once in a blue moon an opinion that agrees with someone intelligent, who thinks and who has a conscience (TC) – I call it the stopped clock syndrome – even a stopped clock is right twice a day – so don't worry that LG said something correct, please!

I guess it's a good thing Obama is more excepting of the nuts. Sure they have the right to act like nuts but do they not have the responsibility to grow up? I could never be that excepting but I am not the President of the United States. And that brings me to Graham who is a sheep in wolves clothing. They will blame Obama until cows come home or they will try to convince Obama to meet them half way. But I think it is time for them to grow -up except that when you act like fools and show disrespect it time to get what you got coming.
