I’m writing for tomorrow, day 196.  It’s early in the morning, and I invested my fall back hour wisely.  ZZZZzzzz!  Hopefully I can catch up now, because I have no major outside commitments until I pick up my coat on Thursday {furiously knocking on wood}.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:22 (average 4:54).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Religious Agony:

1102-Broncos21-Patriots43

Who knows what might have happened, had I not been Seachickened. 🙁

Short Takes:

From Daily Kos: James Chao, father of Mitch McConnell’s wife Elaine, has a lot of questions to answer after 40 kilograms of cocaine (about $6.7 million worth) was found on the Ping May, a ship owned by the Foremost Group, a company James Chao founded and led to a tidy fortune. But was that fortune built on honest movement of legitimate bulk trade goods, or has Mr. Chao been trading in less than legal goods?

The cocaine, found in 40 separate packages, was discovered during a routine inspection hidden among a load of coal bound for Europe from the port of Santa Marta, Columbia onboard the Ping May, one of 15 ships Foremost currently operates, with another 8 under construction. The final destination for the ship was to be the Netherlands, likely one of the port cities surrounding Amsterdam. It is known that the Ping May has been witnessed at the port of Zaanstad, one of these cities, in the past.

Foremost Group is the source of most of Senator McConnell’s fortune through gifts and inheritance from his in-laws. It is a shadowy corporation, utilizing a complex scheme of shell companies to skip out on millions in taxes annually.

So that explains the horrid appearance of Bought Bitch Mitch’s nose! And I thought he was just Repugly!!

From TPM: Bill Maher ripped into Democratic candidates on his HBO show Friday night for distancing themselves from President Barack Obama and their own achievements on the 2014 campaign trail.

He said the same things I’ve been saying for months, with one key difference. He’s funnier.

From Blue Oregon: Even as Monica Wehby circles the drain, the Koch Brothers can’t resist one more parting shot before they slither away, via their American Future Fund. AFF is bankrolled by the Koch boys.

The two have dropped $200k on a new anti-Merkley ad, because apparently they can’t think of anything nice to say about Monica Wehby. Not that I can blame them for that.

It’s the same old recycled crap they’ve been dealing out all over the country.

My own Senator is the one race I’m not worried about. Come Wednesday morning all my personal representatives will be progressive Democrats. Why? I and thousands more like me earned it

  1. Oh TC that csrtoon!  I laughed so loud I startled my rescue-cat, but she's alright now!

Daily Kos – that explains a lot!

TPM – Bill Maher is absolutely right – Democrats need more passion and commitment – like everyone here – then they would succeed and change the world for the better!

I love Bill Maher – not only is he intelligent, perceptive, forthright and very VERY funny, but he allows his videos to be seen by people from around the world, not just America (are you listening Jon Stewart?).

    Thanks TC!

  2. My fondest hope is that after the election the Koch Bros. come up dry.

  3. I daresay you must hate being told to rest TC, but we all remember your horrible attacks of pneumonia – please try and rest!

  4. 3:06 Giddy-up!

  5. Daily Kos ~ I laughed my head off when I read this.  I first saw it on Addicting Info and had to check it out to make sure it was true.

TPM ~ It was an excellent way to chastise Democrat candidates. I hope they will own some of the successes of Pres. Obama.

Blue Oregon ~ And I will still have a Rotten Rethuglican. He's running unopposed.

    Cartoon ~ So sad!

  6. Kos: The “voters” should be made aware of this in Kentucky. VOTE Bitch Mitch OUT!

TPM: Maher is right for ripping into the Demos!

Blue Oregon: Glad that Oregon is progressive.

Placement of “Pneumonia” in the list of the Top Ten causes of death in US.

    * Diabetes: 73,831

Cartoon: Yes, that said it all too well. lol.

  7. 5:21 average now 5:07.  I understand 2400 meters, but what is 3.5t?

Daily Kos – I'm so glad this is coming out and I hope it is in time.  And that Faux Noise viewers get a whiff of it (the story, not the powder).

TPM – Yes, but I do understand for instance, someone like Alison Lundergan Grimes.  Of course she voted for Obama, but she was asked the question in a setting where it would have been tough to turn toe conversation to the President's and the party's accomplishments, and although we all know she voted for Obama, let her say so there and she has just become an "n-word lover" and all accomplishments have disappeared under the bus.  In her shoes, I could have prepared an effective answer in advance, if I had had any idea I was going to be asked such a stupid question – along the lines of "Are you asking me if I voted for the man who (accomplishment)(accomplishment)(accomplishment)(maybe another few)?  Darned right I did!"  But I couldn't have done anything better taken by surprise.  Particularly believing as strongly as I do that one's vote is private.  Anyone who volunteers the information is welcome to, but asking is off limits.

Blue Oregon – Yes, you are fortunate there.  And I hope the trolls under the bridges on the far side of your mountains never get any access to pitchforks and torches.  Unfortunately mine live right in town with me.

Cartoon – He looks a little young, but barring that, yeah, right on.

    • I was disappointed that she did not say "Yes I did", and then listed his accomplishments.  I will be voting for her tomorrow.

      • She would not have been allowed to.  To get the accomplishments in she would have have to list them first.  And my solution was not perfect because it could still be cut to ribbons by editing.  The actual "yes" would have to be buttressed with something that couldn't be cut.

    • 3.5t  referras to 3.5 tonne, midsize commercial vehicles.

    Bottom line: "

It's not that we can't handle the truth. It's that some of us prefer the lie."

  9. Puzzle — 3:00  This ol' grey mare ain't what she used to be! . . . but she's trying!  Still staying in the barn!

Daily Kos — I saw this a day or so ago and had to laugh at "Mr Family Values", his nose still very brown!  I hope Lundergan Grimes can make enough out of this to sink McTurtles gravy train boat.

TPM — Very funny and so apropos.  What are the candidates so afraid of that they can't, or more likely won't, list off accomplishments?  There might have been more had the Republicanus/Teabaggers not been such obstructionist SOBs out to sink the country because Obama dared to be POTUS while black.

Blue Oregon — There is absolutely no comparison between Merkley and Wehby.  If the Kochs want to throw money away, I guess they have that right.  They certainly have the money.

Cartoon — The party of hate!

I hope everyone gets out to vote!  Take a friend or two, or three!  Put the Kochroaches out of business before they put the US out of business . . . because they will!  VOTE BLUE!

  10. Darn–video was gone by the time I got back to watch it.

I wish more knew about Mitch's money source given all his efforts for as open a market as possible with China.

I read where if we started watching the 44,000 Koch funded ads at 12:01 am on New Year's Day and never paused it would be past this point in 2015 before we would finish watching them.  I am glad for the news I've read regarding who has voted early (and how many more than in the past) in Iowa and NC–in the latter, Moral Mondays are getting credit for an atypical turnout of black voters.

Sorry the game wasn't as you hoped but glad you took advantage of the extra hour.

  11. Oh, the agony!! It is abominable!! The Wild Horsies got the Patriot Lock put on them by the refs!! If they had called half of the holding and pass interference’s that happened, we would have had a great Ellipsoid Orb Worship Day! But, alas, we ventured into the frozen land and got Seachickened again!
Bill Maher was right on target! He had some real RepuglicanTs on this week’s show. And the Rula whatever-her-name-is really wanted to get Bill pissed by asking the same question over and over!
Why isn’t that part about the boat load of cocaine on his father-in-law’s boat more visible on any social media?? Just because he is Mitch the Bitch doesn’t mean they can get away with smuggling drugs ANYWHERE!!
Thanks for all you do, TC! You are highlight in a bunch of people’s day, for sure!!

  12. I hope your coat is ready!

Daily Kos;  Man oh man is right.  When do you think the main stream media will report this? Never!

TPM:  Bill Maher's vidoe has been removed. HOwever, I think whatever he said was probably right. If other Democrats had been brave enough to stand up for our President and faced down the right wing, some of the obstruction of justice might have been stopped in its tracks.  They have shown true cowardice.

Blue Oregon:  I wish I could be as confidant as you that I would have at least one Democrat senator after tomorrow.  The Koch's foundations have poured millions into ads here in Kentucky.

    Cartoon: Absolutely true.

  13. Thanks all.  Running out of gas fast!
