I’m writing for tomorrow, day 159.  I’m back at home and thoroughly exhausted.  The bus home was over an hour late, getting to Salem.  The driver was new and had never driven that route before.  My “priority disability” seating was almost at the back of the bus sharing with a gent that makes even TC Lard Butt seem petite by comparison.  I was hanging on by half a cheek.  In Portland, the driver need passengers help to find the bus depot.  If I had been smart, I would have packed myself in the suitcase.  I’m pillow bound, but I’ll discuss the volunteer work in Sunday’s Open Thread.

Today’s took me 2:55 (average 4:34).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. As you all probably know by now, Sister Sarah is entirely CLUELESS as to where our White House is located.

While "speaking" at the "Value Voters Summit" here is the rant where Palin puts it at 1400 Pennsylvania Ave.:

PALIN: “They scream racism just to end debate. Well, don’t retreat. You reload with truth which I know is an endangered species at 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue anyway – truth.”

I realize that this bimbo saying something stupid is not news – but the Tweets her error generated are very entertaining:

Palin got White House address wrong, said 1400 Pennsylvania. She wasn't just one heartbeat from presidency, she was a couple blocks away.

Totally agree with Sarah Palin. There is a lack of leadership at "1400 Pennsylvania Ave." The Willard Hotel needs to get its act together.

Sarah Palin thinks the White House is at 1400 Pennsylvania Ave. Obama must be relieved that she won't stop by to sell him Amway products.

In other news, the guy at 1400 Pennsylvania Ave now knows who's been calling in those pizza orders for the last five & a half years.

    • Thank you for my laugh of the day.   I had a news free day yesterday and today, so hadn't heard this one.  McCain owes us big time for bringing her out of Alaska/!

    • Bloody Bullseye Barbie strikes again!!

    • Nameless – thanks for making me laugh – being overseas I didn't know the real address of the White House – to know that she got it wrong is just priceless!

  2. Americans of All Parties Agree: Sarah Palin Should Go Away

Four in ten Republicans – yes, Republicans – think Palin should go away.

Dislike of Sarah Palin’s constant media presence is a remarkably non-partisan affair, as more than half of registered voters wish she’d be quiet according to a new poll.

54 percent of people surveyed said they wished to hear less from Palin, the poll from The Wall Street Journal/NBC News/Annenberg found. That position was favored by two-thirds of Democrats, a majority of independents, and, most notably – four in 10 Republicans. That’s a sizable group of people from the party that, just a few years ago, supported her nomination for vice president. In this time of increasing political polarization, Americans can agree on one thing: Sarah Palin should just go away.

The survey took place from June 30-July 7, meaning respondents didn’t even have the benefit of reading Palin’s article on Tuesday calling for the impeachment of President Obama, in which she likened America to a “battered wife.” She later mocked House Speaker John Boehner’s lawsuit against the President as bringing “a lawsuit to a gunfight.”

In response, Boehner coldly dismissed Palin’s proposal for impeachment when asked about it by a reporter. “I disagree,” he responded to the reporter.

We, in Care2, have known for years that “Sarah Palinsane” should shut-up, fade away and disappear forever. The press should quit following and quoting her nonsensical utterances!

  3. 4:57  No change in average.  If I were a town, I'm not sure I'd want it to get around that I had inspired Salvador Dali.  He's not like Monet, or even Van Gogh.  I would expect tourists to ask where the melting clocks are.

Glad you're home, sorry it was a pain (literally!), do sleep well and I hope no pains get worse sleeping on them (which sometimes happens to me).

Nameless – Sarah – What shocks me is that she admits truth is an endangered species, which as we all know the Republicans want to eradicate because they don't boost business.  I do feel sorry for the Willard Hotel.  I've always liked it.

  4. 3:20  I decided to take a nap on the beach.  It was too nice to rush.

  5. Glad you got home safely, even if it was round about.  Please send Oreo home, he hates suitcases.

    GET SOME REST!

  6. Glad you are back – sorry you had such a horrid journey – perhaps you would have been better packing yourself in your suitcase – it made such a lovely photo!
