Here are the results of our Iraq Response Poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are often both accurate and indicative of the nation’s view.

I agonized over "humanitarian aid" but voted to "do nothing" because the aid never gets to its intended destination. If help is sent at all, it should be a united effort by the UN Security Forces or NATO.

We should stay out of it completely..but I figure air strikes + "advisors" + more guns, etc..oh, and "humanitarian" aid..

Ensure that al-Maliki is either GONE or stops his offensive sectarian regime and corruption. (I think he’s a MAJOR cause of the all the uproar)

The man is EVIL! No aid from us (other than to protect our people and interests) until he’s either gone … or has a "Come-to-Allah" moment. ;-

Let Iraq stew in its own eternal religious civil war.

I voted troops for training. Air strikes no I don’t think so. Because after all the lives that were lost in both countries and it has come to this. Who thought that getting rid of Saddam Hussein was going to bring peace? Oh I know Bush/Cheney lol no he was a power trip and used 9/11 to get what he wanted. Now Cheney and daughter are working together to make Obama look stupid. I trust what ever President Obama decides

Humanitarian aid with the caveat that experience shows it needs to be closely monitored lest it turn into something else. "Do nothing" would be my second choice.

Humanitarian Aid only. We would brook no interference in our internal affairs and we can impose NO form of government on ANY other country, anywhere, ever. As harsh as that sounds, they have to solve this themselves, that is the only way they will ever come to a lasting peace. Provide humanitarian aid, but no more.

Humanitarian aid should be both the least and the most the US could do for the doubtless many thousands of (Shiite) refugees this war will render. After all the US is partly responsible for this mess and should feel the obligation to help individuals in their daily struggle to survive.

The result was a virtual tie between humanitarian aid and nothing.  I voted for humanitarian aid, because Republicans broke the country, when the Bush Reich invaded and tried to install a puppet regime.

There is a new poll up.  Vote both in it and in November.

  1. All the humanitarian aid we sent there befre ended up in a few corrupt leaders' coffers and then disappeared.

  2. The news today is that Obama sent 300 more troops for a total of about 700 to essentially guard the US embassy. Now I wonder whay Boehner will say?  Perhaps something like "Obama is not authorised to spend that money!" and then he'll get Issa on it and there will be another "investigation" to stir the pot and the pretense of a scandal.

Republicanus/Teabaggers will do anything, literally anything including selling their souls (that presumes they have souls!) to the devil, just to attack that "uppity black man" in the White House.  Mr Obama, stand your ground and shove these lily livered kochroaches back into the hole from which they escaped.

  3. This mess is never going to go away.  We should not have gone there to begin with, and we seem to have made matters worse for the people who live there.  They are going to keep on killing each other no matter what we do.

  4. Humanitarian aid must be delivered directly bu humanitarian people, never given to the Maliki government.

I don't like what Obama is doing, but I'll live with it if the mission is short duration, as he claims, and there is no mission creep.
