I’m writing for tomorrow, and I had hoped to have an additional article, but my new vacuum arrived. Assembling it was most interesting, because I do not have a doctorate in Engineering, and I am not psychic. It works. Then I had to try it out. Then I had to clean the refrigerator for my store to Door delivery. Tomorrow is my annual physical, and my doctor is way on the other side of town. I’m taking the lift bus, and I’ll be gone most of the day. I Have to fast after Midnight. I’ll be doing good to get out even an Open Thread for Friday, if I can.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 3:29 (average 5:27). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From Upworthy: If you haven’t met Rev. William Barber, then you are in for a treat. This is not your grandma’s Sunday service, that’s for sure. (Or, if it is … then you totally have one cool grandma.)
Pay close attention to the words of "The Great Dissenter" at 2:01 and see if you agree.
Amen!
From Daily Kos: The fact that Florida’s Republican governor and legislature refused to expand Medicaid under Obamacare was bad enough. Florida has the second highest number of uninsured people among all the states. About one quarter of Florida’s population was uninsured before the health exchange opened in January. That’s 3.8 million people. If the state were to expand Medicaid, one million of them would get Medicaid coverage. But it gets worse. Florida isn’t just turning away Medicaid expansion money, they’ve jeopardized existing funding by refusing to comply with federal Medicaid law. The state has decided to impose a limit of six emergency room visits per year to Medicaid patients. The feds say Florida can’t do that, Florida says, sure we can. And now they’re losing funding.
The only thing that will save Florida is a giant dose of Dulcolax to cure their case of Republipation.
From YouTube: RACHEL MADDOW: Why We Did It Preview
It will be most interesting to see if the reasons Rachel has uncovered are the same as I have projected. First, seize the oil. Second, establish permanent bases for military operations in the Persian Gulf that is not under the control of Saudi Arabia. This special will air at 6:00 PM pacific Time on MSNBC.

3:41 My kittens are very disappointed with me for taking so long.
3:06 What a beautiful little girl! Somewhat similar to my Annie (…only she is prettier!).
3:30 TomCat beat me by a whisker. Lynn was beat me by the whole cat.
My little Annie was my inspiration.
3:25 Purr-ty kitty!
I did this puzzle again because the link at the bottom of today's page brought me here. I thought that kitty looked familiar.
Good luck with all your endeavors today. It sounds like you need it.
Upworthy ~ The good Reverend is very inspiriational. He could very well be a moving force for equality much like MLK Jr. was.
Daily Kos ~ Rick Scott and all his cronies don't care how far they go. Pretty soon they will have dug their graves so deeply, they will be half way to China. We can only hope at this point, until the next election.
YouTube ~ I still think one of the main reasons was to finish what Daddy Bush couldn't do. All the reasons Rachel states are why Daddy fought originally. Cheney & Rummy couldn't wait to get some serious killin' done.
Cartoon ~ A dark day in our history.
Now this is really cool – an interactive, 360 panorama of NYC from the top of 1 World Trade Center:
http://time.com/world-trade-center/
Thanks, Nameless. Having many friends who are current and retired members of Ironworkers Local 440, this was too cool. Many of them worked on the Twin Towers when they were being built and I remember their stories when they would come home for a respite. They were particularly hard hit when Sept. 11 destroyed the Towers and wanted to be included in the rebuilding before the planning stages even started.
7:07 Bad mouse day with lots of "language."
Upworthy – Kentucky once produced honorable men (and presumably women) who could listen to reason, change their minds, and stand on moral principle. Where are they now? (The reference is to Harlan. North Carolina produced a splendidly honorable man in Rev. Barber – though likely his inspriational parents had more to do with that than the state.)
Daily Kos – And if you live in Florida, and you moved there for the climate (and expecially if your health depends on not-too-cold climate), but you know better than the vast majority of Floridians who keep electing these, for want of a better word, people, and you want out, where are you going to go? Arizona? Texas? Mississippi? Good luck with that.
Rachel – I can't get MSNBC so won't be watching at the time. I'm sure it will be covered though. Daily Kos if nothing else.
Cartoon – Gee, and we've come so far. NOT.
Joanne, we still have those people in Ky, unfortunately, they haven't been elec ted as senators recently.
Time: 2:09 for some reason this one was easy for me. Not kitten around about that.
The act of dissent is the basic formation of our democratic republic, dissent is founded in and of free speech. Dissent has and we should hope continues to be the reasons we move forward. The reasons for all positive change grows from the actions of those who come together and take the action of dissent.
I'm looking forward to Rachel's documentary tonight (9:00 pm Central) if it is as good as the first we have a treat and a vast amount of information coming this evening.
One more of our national shames – The Dred Scott Decision.
I hope things go well for you today TC, and wish someone could have given you a hand with that "construction" project. It is working so maybe you are more of an engineer than you thought.
Take care ofyourself first, tc
UPworthy: Rev Barber shows a lot of courage. Moral MOndays in NC took courage, too.
Rachel Maddow:: Wish I had seen this earlier, I would have watched. We have always said dubya started the war in Iraq to show daddy he could take down Hussein. He also wanted the oil. Of course, Cheney made big bucks off it.
Cartoon: Terrible day for us
I am heading home tomorrow, maybe I will be caught up next week.
Thanks all. Went well. Good Night!
I was able to stay awake and watch Rachel's special last night. The Oil men should be made to pay by trying and convicting them of mass murder.
I don't think even this would help… 😆
I do live in Florida now…
Puzzle — 3:06 What a beautiful little girl! Somewhat similar to my Annie (…only she is prettier!).
Upworthy — The only response to this is a big AMEN!!!
Daily Kos — Instead of a large dose of Dulcolax, how about a selective tsunami . . . one that only hits Republicaus/Teabaggers! Maybe the stink would be more tolerable to everyone else.
Cartoon — The 13th, 14th and 15th amendments may have officially nullified the Dred Scott decision, but the Republicanus/Teabaggers are all too willing to reversing those amendments.
