I’m writing for tomorrow, a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  My Broncos receive the honor of the Sunday Night Worship with the only undefeated congregation, and the Bronco’s long time division rival, the Chiefs.  I guess I don’t have to tell you I’ll be meditating.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Tomorrow’s took me 4:35 (average 4:29).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From MSNBC: Rachel Maddow brings of the latest on the doings in the Totalitarian Fascist Plutocracy of Fitzwalkerstan.

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

It could not be more clear that blatant election theft is the intent of Fartfuhrer Walker and his Koch sucking cronies.

From AP: Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who played a central role in the government’s response to the financial crisis of 2008-2009, is joining private equity firm Warburg Pincus LLC.

The firm announced Saturday that Geithner will serve as its president and managing director starting March 1.

Am I the only one not surprised that Timmy the Tool moved right in to a position as a vulture capitalist, running a hedge fund?  I say again, Obama should have kept his own advisors instead of hiring Hillary’s people.

From Raw Story: Friday night, during his weekly “New Rules” segment, Bill Maher slammed the U.S. Supreme Court — and in particular Chief Justice John Roberts — for pretending that decisions like the Citizens United ruling and gutting the Voting Rights Act (VRA) won’t have any consequences.

Bill was less funny than usual, and it’s not just the South, but he sure has the five Injustices of SCROTUS pegged!!

That was when NBC blocked the blessed holy light from the Ellipsoid Orb.

  1. 3:28 I won't be walking barefoot on this beach any time soon.

  2. MSNBC ~ Just add election theft to his growing list of Crimes against Americans.

AP ~ Now Timmy is back with his own kind again. Carrion.

I will have to come back later to watch Bill Maher.

  3. So sorry TC – can't watch anything today or comment due to half an hour's sleep last night due to rodent in attic and noisy neighbour (my turn!)…. am gibbering with fatigue…so sorry!

  4. 4:48  I'd not be walking barefoot on that beach under any circumstances, though.

Maddow – I feel so sorry for my friends in Wisconsin.

The Supremes – I said when they handed down the VRA decision that the obvious answer is to require EVERY state to get permission to change voting procedures.  No discrimination there, plus it would have created a lot of jobs because it takes lots of people to investigate all the Southern states plus Pennsylvania and, yes, Wisconsin, to name a few.  But as usual no one listened to me LOL.

    • Jo, I grew up in Atlantic City, NJ.  Last time I was back (still years ago), the beach was foul, nothing like it was when I left. 🙁

      Amen!

We were riding the same horse.  They didn't listen to me either.

  5. Raw Story ~ Bill was right again. Like John Belushi said in Animal House: "You f**ked up…." The old white men on SCROTUS have made all the monied conservatives very happy. How much of that money lined their pockets?

  6. While I certainly disagree with Kennedy WRT Citizens United, I would NOT generally lump him in with the other four.  He's been a strong GLBT rights advocate, and a  supporter of women's reproductive rights – at least in principle.  (He's narrowed some of those rights, but I doubt he'd ever overturn Roe.)

While not as liberal as O'Connor as the Court's "Swing Vote" – he's certainly not a right-wing ideologue like the other four.

    … and GO CHIEFS!

    • Kennedy may moderate on a coupe social issues, but when it comes to the 0.1% he is also and ideologue.  In the trwo most crucial issues, he goose-stepped with the other four.

Reguarding the AFC West, you get asmother shot at the best in two weeks. 🙂

  7. What I always thought was that there is a Limit on how much an individual can "contribute" to a campaign..so it did not worry me as much as some when they declared Corporations as Individuals – but apparently that Limit was Also removed? It just seems to me that a person running for office should be able to spend all their Own money if they want, but be limited as to other people's money.

    • That still gibes them an unfair advantage.  They should not het more speech, because they have more money.  We need federal financing for all federal elections.

  8. I have Bill Maher recorded but have not had time to watch so I took a pass on that one. I watched Maddow and was so angry I wanted to shout at the TV. There is not even a pretense of courtesy and common decency. Is Putin building a house in Wisconsin? He would be right at home.

Tim Geithner moves on to a high paying job with a lobby/equity firm, now that's a real shocker. I do not like this idea but I think the time has come to affirm legally that no one can go from any position in government (elected or appointed) to a job that in any way lobbies or represents a lobby group.

The Jets are doing fairly well this season. I remember that 1968 game.

    Thanks TC.

  9. 5:54

Bill Maher is always my favorite…. I will come back later to watch and red the Rachel Maddow. I did watch Animal House Movie again last night… 😀

  10. Fantasy Football — Appears so far this week that the Monster Mashers are being stomped!

    Size 9 Stompers106.72 vs 64.82 Monster Mashers

Will it last so that I get my 2nd win in 11 weeks?

Puzzle — 3:57  Not my fastest time but it never is when I am eating and doing the puzzle.

Personal — I just came in from visiting my mother.  Oh she was being a pain today by not taking her medication, opting to spit it out instead.  It is easier to get my cats to take meds when they have to!  I spent quite a bit of time talking with Robin who is about 65 years old.  He is a resident there as a result of a traumatic brain injury after falling while hiking, as opposed to most of the others who have disease driven dementia.  He is hard to understand but we manage.  One of the other residents took me aside and told me that Robin had been asking for me during the week and saying nice things.  I certainly appreciated hearing that.  Today, the music was Josh Groban which everyone seemed to enjoy.  If you haven't heard him, this young man has a voice to treasure.  I went to his concert here in Vancouver about 6 years ago and he was absolutely magnificent!  Nice eye candy too!  Must go, my half hour is up and my dinner is done.  Off to bed.

    • Lynn, glad you are back.  I love Josh Grobin, too, have his cd on right now.  Sorry your mother was not in a good frame today. Mine is still in the early stages and it is trial enough.

    • You're foot-flatteniong her all right!!

      Still beat me!

I sure hope yo get your mom's meds squared away, and hope your emergency is improving.

  11. Rachel Maddow:  So glad I do not live in Wisconsin.too.

    AP:  No surprise about this.

Most of Scotus has to be owned by the Koch brother and their ilk to make the decisions they have.

Glad you are back and feeling better.  I don't know how I managed to get two names listed here, now I am both Edie and Edith Belcher.  I will stick with Edie.
