I’m writing for tomorrow, day 98. Tonight I’ll be meditating on the Ellipsoid Orb, even though my Broncos are not. Stuck on stupid neighbor has a new trick. He sits next door, and his girlfriend (and I use that term loosely) sits in her apartment on the third floor, and the two of them use the breezeway to fight. It hasn’t cost me any sleep so far, because they do it in the wee hours, and I’m already up replying to comments, uploading articles, and distributing links. Other neighbors aren’t too happy about it, though.

Jig Zone Puzzle:
From Daily Kos: Oh this is delicious. Yes, you read it right. Hate-radio talk show host, Rush Limbaugh, has been ousted from Fargo’s Talk 101.9 FM, and replaced with Rock 102, after listeners rebelled and ratings tanked (like in septic).
Last March, only weeks after Rush Limbaugh’s attack on Sandra Fluke, KFGO in the heart of Red state, North Dakota, joined the Hate Parade and switched from good old Rock & Roll, to angry, hateful, racist, homophobic, misogynist Rush. The listeners were not happy. According to Mike McFeely at KFGO it was a bitter pill for the Rock 102 fans to swallow for a good while.
"Despite the adamant protests of Rock 102’s passionate fans, including the creation of a "Bring Back Rock 102" Facebook page," Rock 102 entered a year and a half period of conservative talk programming which will be forever referred to as ‘in Limbaugh’"…
The people ultimately won and got their station back.
When presented with Rock or Rush, the policy chief of the Republican Party, the choice is self-evident!
From MSNBC: Republicans are now owning the term RepubliCare
Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
RepubliCare’s new features are more welfare for the rich, and more and welfare for Big Insurance, but it retains the RepubliCare Death Benefit for YOU! If you can’t pay, you get to die!!
From Think Progress: After historic floods ravaged Colorado late last week, the state is now facing serious long-term consequences. The Denver Post reported on Wednesday evening that at least 5,250 gallons of crude oil spilled from two tank batteries into the South Platte River. Anadarko Petroleum, the second-largest operator in the region, is working with local officials to contain the spill, but authorities are unsure when the spill occurred or exactly how much crude leached into the river.
The incident is the first to confirm the fears of many Coloradans that the state’s flooded oil and gas infrastructure is a major environmental catastrophe waiting to happen. As Think Progress reported on Tuesday, the floods hit one of the most densely drilled areas in the U.S. and residents have expressed serious concern “that unknown amount of chemicals has leaked out and possibly contaminated waters, mixing fracking fluids and oil along with sewage, gasoline, and agriculture pesticides.”
I’m literally afraid to hear what else has happened, but it’s not just a local event. The South Platt will carry part of that crude all the way to the Mississippi, which will add it to the rest in the Gulf.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
4:49 I always get caught up in the thorny brambles while berry picking.
3:14 Those berries look so delicious I was running to get to them first! OK Jerry, are you going to deprive me of a delicious feast?
Crunch?
3:57 We all are crunched.
No Jerry, that would be Bigfooted or "berried"! Thanks for the feast Jerry!
The Critter is Cap'n Crunch!! 😉
The Colorado floods (and the ones in Mexico) are just awful – the weather forecasters say they are one in a thousand year events – and occasionally mention that the one in a thousand year events are happening more and more often! That oil spill is catastrophic – mixed with agricultural pesticides and sewage will make a toxic brew killing all around it – as it goes into the Mississippi and the Gulf… as if they hadn't suffered enough!
Pat, you understand perfectly.
Sorry about your horrible neighbours TC – but many congratulations on day 98, that really is wonderful!
Thanks twice, Pat
Your neighbor sound as lovely as mine. I hope you can get out of there soon. Unfortunately, mine won't move. They rent and I'm not about to sell my little house.
Daily Kos ~ Rock over Rush! Another interesting tidbit about the Barf-man was reported in the Daily Kos. It seems he is attacking Michelle Obama for encouraging Americans to drink more water to contribute to a healthier lifestyle. He says it's a plot by her and Pepsi-Co to sell more bottled water. I didn't hear her say "bottled". Must have to get the beans out of my ears.
MSNBC ~ They really do want those Death Panels to become reality. Push Granny over the cliff.
Think Progress ~ Oil companies just do not learn. Do they? Scrimp and save on safety and spill safeguard so the profits can go through the roof. Sickening! Don't forget to increase the prices that consumers pay either. Profits MUST stay high.
Here's another interesting item fro the Daily Kos. It is no longer the job of journalists to investigate the news to find the truth. This is from the head of the News at MSNBC, Chuck Todd. Read on for your edification :

As a follow-up to the story about Chuck Todd and truth, CREDO posted this petition: I signed this petition — will you? I just took action to hold NBC Political Director Chuck Todd accountable for his outrageous claim that correcting Republican lies isn't part of his job. I think you should too! You may have to copy and paste.

Signed. Thanks Patty. In Canada, news journalists by law are required to print the truth if they are certain of the facts, and at least do their best to uncover the truth. News is not opinion. That's why Fox News is not allowed in Canada — their "news" is at best opinion, and often outright lies.
Todd is such a doorknob!
Patty, great minds fall in the same ditcg. I did not see this come in and have the Kos story in a Short Take today, so I added your Credo link to it too. Thanks!
Patty, Am ahead of you. Signed that petition earlier this morning. And Tom, what is the word on your being able to get a different apartment?
Dotti, I have that newa in today's Open Thread. I should find out next week.
How did you do? 6:37
Good news and Fox reported this?
Just as Alan Grayson said, "Die Quickly"…
Not bad!
To thdem it was bad news.
Alan was the inspiration for my RepubliCare theme.
Puzzle — 3:14 Those berries look so delicious I was running to get to them first! OK Jerry, are you going to deprive me of a delicious feast?
Daily Kos — Rock Rush right off the air waves! Nothing could be sweeter . . . except maybe the demise of the Republicanus/Teabagger party!
MSNBC — Republicans are now owning the term RepubliCare but the trouble is that it is presided over by Dr Death aka "The Grim Reaper". This obviously hastily prepared panacea does nothing for the people that need healthcare, and only serves to maintain a bloated profit driven healthcare system.
Think Progress —As I noted in an article from the Canadian Press which I posted to Care2, Joe Oliver Says Keystone Is Worth the Costs of Ongoing U.S. Lobbying Efforts , is there any doubt that the Harper Conservatives and Alberta Conservatives are serious about the investment in the tar sands? One can argue that there are advantages in both views of the debate. The benefits depend on your perspective. Personally, I side with Mother Earth, No Keystone XL! However, as Treehugger points out in Colorado Flood Damaged Oil Pipelines & Gas Fracking Wells a flooded Colorado is showing more of the destruction and dangers that persist with fracking, oil wells, pipelines etc. Let's face it, investment in infrastructure, especially aging infrastructure, is not the big spending item that it should be. And from that arise more dangers like spreading beyond the Platte and into the Mississippi and the Gulf of Mexico, still reeling from the BP spill. It is profits over people, still!
Cartoon — I love the terms "blackslide, a one-hatey and Kenyan Boomerang" — they are so descriptive of the hate and bigotry of the Republicanus/Teabaggers. I can't place him — who is this piece of Republicanus/Teabagger filth?
Crushed?
Amen!
Amedn again!
and it always will be with Big Oil (Tar).
He's just a generic Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian preacher. Blacktracking is Maher's. Clacksliding is mine, inspired by him.
OK, I give …who is the guy in the cartoon?
A Republican preacher telling his congregants not to blackslide in the voting booth.
I hope you get out of that apartment soon!
Rush: so deserved, glad the ND listeners prevailed.
Colorado will be a long time recovering, and the filth will destroy what is left of the Gulf, the area is just starting to recover from Katrina.
Thanks, Edia!
Let's \make all America so blessed!
I don't know that it will destroy the Guld itself, but the last thing needed is more.
