If you goose-step to the Republican Ministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise, all the wing-nut wonks, and especially Darrell Issa (R-CA), you know that Barack Obama colluded with the government of Kenya, The Socialist, Communist and Nazi parties, the devil, and IRS agents to single out Tea Party groups, a conspiracy to deprive them of their rights. If course, if you goose step in that company, everything else you think you know is just as wrong. Here is the ultimate proof.
The instructions that Internal Revenue Service officials used to look for applicants seeking tax-exempt status with “Tea Party” and “Patriots” in their titles also included groups whose names included the words “Progressive” and “Occupy,” according to I.R.S. documents released Monday.
The documents appeared to back up contentions by I.R.S. officials and some Democrats that the agency did not intend to single out conservative groups for special scrutiny. Instead, the documents say, officials were trying to use “key word” shortcuts to find overtly political organizations — both liberal and conservative — that were after tax favors by saying they were social welfare organizations.
But the practice appeared to go much farther than that. One such “be on the lookout” list included medical marijuana groups, organizations that were promoting President Obama’s health care law, and applications that dealt “with disputed territories in the Middle East.” … [emphasis added]

Of course no political group should qualify, because the law states that they must be exclusively public service.
Lets not forget that the people overseeing these practices were self-identified as conservative Republicans, and that some progressive groups were denied, but no Tea Party groups were.

Issa is also attacking that contractor who was awarded some contracts by the IRS. He is saying nothing about the special treatment his family's businesses got put in if front of their placesat the cost of millions to the taxpayers. That was all above board,, I'm sure.
Republicans make rules, but never obey them.
Inundated with almost three-thousand new applications for 501(c)4 favorable tax status, the overworked IRS staff devises a common sense approach to separate ALL legitimate "social welfare" groups from non-qualifying political groups.
Gee, Federal government workers actually doing their jobs efficiently and legally. It's no wonder it got Rethuglicans' panties in a bunch!
I guess since funding for the IRS was slashed, and key positions were in the control of Republican/Teabagger bureaucrats, Issa figured he had it in the bag. Well with funding slashed and a job to do, federal workers had to become efficient.
Knickers in a twist! I bet the circulation to Issa's brain has been cut off!
Lynn is right. That makes this a real ankle-grabber for Issa.
Until Issa is out of everybody's misery permanently (who wants a rabid dog in the house?), I think I'll probably still think he is trying to boil something up!
The day Issa stops trying to boil something up is the day the Stanley cup will be played in the nether regions and the Canucks will win! 😉
