I trust that by now you have heard that Anonymous claims that they prevented an attempt by Karl Rove to rig the vote counting in several swing states in the recent elections. That may or may not be true. The problem is that, since Anonymous is anonymous, anyone can claim to be anonymous. While I recognize Rove’s long history of attempts at election theft, I cannot accept the claims of unnamed people as absolute fact. However, it it is true, it is imperative that we find out.
…Then, during election night in 2012, it was suddenly Unger’s story all over again—almost. This time the Ohio, statewide, vote-tallying computers went down at 11:13 pm EST. That was thirteen minutes after voter analyst Karl Rove had begun to throw his 30-minute tantrum live on Fox News. Rove was angry that the Fox analysts had called the Ohio election in favor of President Obama at 11:00 pm EST. During his rant, Rove went into a detailed analysis about how that part of the yet uncounted voter—25%—would throw the election to Romney. And then, bingo—
The Ohio computers went down in the middle of Rove’s rant. But when they came back up there was no change in the vote. Obama still led. Rove looked even more perplexed. He then argued for another 15 minutes that Romney could still win Ohio. Finally, Rove conceded that perhaps Romney might lose the state.
Then, two days after the 2012 election, Anonymous released another video. The hackers explained that they had inserted a firewall into Secretary of State Husted’s software patch. That had stopped the Ohio election counters from using it. The hackers said that they had analyzed the patch and that it would have flip-flopped the vote in the same counties that Karl Rove, of Fox, had argued would eventually swing the Ohio election to Romney.
Interesting, on election night, when the Ohio computers came back online, the vote tallying went on without the patch, and Obama won.
This whole thing might mean that the patch should be subpoenaed into court and examined for its potential to rig an election—especially since no one dared to complain that it did not work. And the counting kept on going, anyway, unquestioned. But that’s not all.
Anonymous claims that Mitt Romney’s Orca program was a fake, also. It was not meant to be used as a get-out-the-vote program as stated by the Romney campaign. Rather, it was meant to be used to divert and flip flop the vote in two other states, Florida and Virginia. Like Ohio, both states have Republican Secretaries of state who resolve voting issues. Makes you wonder, right? But there is more…
…Yet, if you are a concerned voter, please contact the U.S. senators from your state at http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm/.
This egregious attempt at vote rigging by Karl Rove and the Romney campaign—if true—must not go unpunished. At the minimum, Ohio, Virginia, and Florida should be forced to have a ballot paper trail. This would allow for a verifiable recount if this same thing turns up in 2016. The current electronic voting systems in those states cannot be used to do a legitimate recount… [emphasis added]

First, I encourage you to click through to the original article and read the whole thing. I provided enough bits and pieces to give you the flavor, but there is much more there.
Second, please contact your Senators and ask then to institute a full investigation to determine the validity of Anonymous’ claim. If true, we owe them thanks for saving this nation, and the guilty Republicans must be prosecuted.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
You nailed it TC–
I did wonder why Rove was so perplexed about what he knew was going to happen, was not happening.
Did this disgusting cockroach rig the Scott Walker recall vote as well.
Lets not forget 2004 when George Bush was about to lose Ohio then suddenly the vote flipped in his favour.
Welcome Derek! 🙂
I have no evidence that Wisconsin was rigged.
Using statistical analysis of the variances by precinct between official vote counts and exit polls, all favoring Bush, in Ohio 2004 was telling. The odds against the variances being random are an asymptotic approach to infinity.
Thanks Phyllis.
Being the US election neophyte that I am, I found my emotions almost in a manic up and down before the final decision was called. In the weeks before 06/11/12, there were times that I felt the Republican/Teabaggers were smug, almost too smug, for a race that I thought was very close, too close for my liking. There was a certain confidence that I, given the polls, thought was misplaced. But then, opinion polls are just that, opinion. The only poll that really counts is the people's poll, aka the vote. But I did not see that same smugness from the Democrats, or perhaps I didn't want to see it.
When I heard that Rove was on a rant, I had imagined an apoplectic rant complete with red face, spittle flying, and fists waiving. But that is not what I saw. I saw someone relatively calm, but insistent. Certainly the Faux Noise talking heads were perplexed with Rove.
Looking back, I can well see that it is conceivable that Rove thought the "fix" was in. What else would account for his insistence that it was too early to call the state of Ohio?
And look at the elections of 2000 and 2004 — the first decided by SCOTUS in favour of Baby Bush, and the second had computer "irregularities" in Ohio for sure — computers down at 11:14 pm and come back up with the vote count altered, much like the one Anonymous is claiming to have shut down in 2012 — again in favour of Baby Bush.
"…that they are generally just and fair. …" — any wonder why the UN was asked to send international election observers to key areas of the US? I for one would love to hear their report. This also comes back to the absolute need to reform federal elections across all states for consistency and fairness. There should be NO PARTISAN SHENANIGANS involved in any way!
Lynn, that's excellent work. I agree. As I have said before, there needs to be a national standard for federal elections that completely removes the process from partisan hands.
I live in Fl and voted with paper ballot. I think that was the only option for early voting in our large county. I assumed that we voted the same way across the state. Anaonymous, in their first warning to Rove, threatened him withdata collection that would be turned over to the 'proper authorities." Let's hope that has been done and that the "proper authorities" are sifting through a year's worth.
The phone calls to senators are a wonderful idea. I will do just that – call them and demand some action.
Thanks Angie. I also hope that Anonymous turned over evidence to the proper authorities.
I agree – my mind was going back to those strange inconsistencies that Phyllis and Derek and Lynn and Angelica mentioned – in fact they have been in the back of my mind since they happened – and at the time I was wondering if another 'Florida 2000' or 'Ohio 2004' was on the cards. If this is true then the citizens not just of America but the whole world owe Anonymous a huge debt of gratitude for stopping that unspeakable bunch from yet another round of vote rigging!
Please everyone in the US phone your senators and demand action to find the truth! (Also if possible support Elizabeth Warren in her attempt to stop filibustering in the Senate – which used to mean someone had to stand up and speak for the whole time – but under the Repuglicons someone can phone the word in – and go off and do other things – it rigs the vote!).
Thanks Pat. You make an excellent point. Had Willard been elected the harm caused would have extended far beyoun our own borders.
I don't want to pile on, but any reasonable investigator, looking at what we've seen so far, would begin asking questions. And I would begin quickly before the evidence disappears.
Welcome Joseph! 🙂
You make an excellent point.
Rove most likely did TRY to rig the election. That explains his disbelief when Pres. Obama was announced as the obvious winner for another 4 years.
