If you voted for Barack Obama…
If you are a vet and were maimed defending our nation…
If you worked all your life, and paid for Social Security…
If you paid for your Medicare…
If you have a student loan…
If your children receive a free meal at school…
If you receive unemployment benefits, even if Bain Capital outsourced your job…
If you receive food stamps…
If you receive a penny from the government in any way (except corporate welfare)…
Then Romney does not concern himself with you, because you are a lazy moocher, you refuse to take responsibility for your own life, and you consider yourself a victim.
How do we know? Willard said so himself!
Republican nominee Mitt Romney, speaking to donors at a closed-door fundraiser this year, said that supporters of President Obama failed to take personal responsibility for their lives, relied on government for their needs and paid no income tax.
“There are 47% of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47% who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care of them, who believe that they are entitled to healthcare, to food, to housing, to you name it,” Romney said in a videotaped speech to donors that was given to the news organization Mother Jones, which posted it online Monday.
“That’s an entitlement," Romney said. "And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. … These are people who pay no income tax.”
In the remarks, Romney said he had no hope of swaying those people to his side and would instead focus on unaligned voters.
"[M]y job is not to worry about those people,” Romney said, referring to Obama supporters. “I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."… [emphasis added]
Inserted from <LA Times>
Willard said he was speaking off the cuff. He was, and to me that means he was unguardedly saying what he really thinks. He certainly was with those with whom he has most in common: people who can afford $50,000 for dinner.
Ed Schultz covered the story with Ted Strickland and EJ Dionne.

This was a proclamation of class warfare. Romney’s statements only acknowledge the policies of the Republican Party. I am a proud member of the 47%. I AM entitled to my Social Security and Medicare. I PAID for them. But the Republican War on America, extends beyond just 47%. It’s a war against the 99%!

The Mitt Hits the Fan
Rmoney admits that his comments were, "Not elegantly stated."
So my question is, how exactly do you "Elegantly" say you think 47% of Americans are moochers who “don’t take personal responsibility and care for their lives"?
Michael Moore has a great tweet at #RomneyEncore
Someone put together a great poster called "The Choice"
Just in case the graphic of it doesn't show up, here are the Compare & Contrast quotes that should help any American decide who they want to lead our country.
Romney: "My job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
Pres. Obama: “To those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices. I need your help. And I will be your president, too.”

Leave it to Michael Moore! Great graphics!
Nameless, that 1st link is the summary of the whole campaign thus far IMHO. Thank you.
Great comments!!! I want to nominate you for a pulitzer or something!
You're too kind.
And if they involve monetary awards – go ahead & throw my hat in the ring! 😉
NO RMONEY FOR YOU!! 😉
My God, what a obstinate arrogant ass, Romney is. Anyone that believes in what he says should have their head examined. I sincerely hope that his campaign is done, but we must not be apathetic, these Republicans lie and steal. If you don't agree with them, they mark you as dead so you cannot vote. Do not take this election as done. Get out the vote. Volunteer. Show these bastards that they are not going to screw us over.
Amen to that Gypsy. I returned to voting rights in today's #2.
"If you are a vet and were maimed defending our nation…"
Willard pulled the ladder up after he made his, we're on our own…
Indeed!
So we get the golf club's elite listening to their regular info coming from their most important VIP – well lah -di-dah!!!! Is it really surprising? He insults his heritage, he insults most of America, he insults all tax payers – what a man! Who wouldn't vote for such a patriot?
LOL!!! ME!
Well since I am on Social security– worked till I was 73 –, and Medicare– makes me a freeloading mooch—- btw– my Medicare Part B ; BC supplements , and part D , I pay $500 a month— Worked and paid in the the system for 50 + years ;-Yup– just call me Minnie the Mooch– When I vote for President Obama again–
Look forward now to Romneys final speech — But I am a firm believer in 'Aint over til it's over"—- So VOTE!!!!
Right on, Minnie!! 😉
Rmoney is a political moocher, pandering to the elites and lying to the rest of the American populace in the hopes of becoming POTUS.
From Rick Ungar @ Forbes.com
"It appears Governor Romney is referring to the 47 percent of Americans who did not pay federal income tax last year—22 percent of whom were elderly people on Social Security, while 17 percent were students and disabled Americans. Much of the remaining Americans who paid no federal income taxes were low-income workers who qualify under the law for the earned income tax credit but do pay payroll taxes. Ironically, many of these low-income, non-federal income tax paying people are white, working class Americans who are a part of Romney’s base of support."
"UPDATE: My old friend, Jon Vein, brings to my attention the greatest irony of all – the states with the greatest number of Americans who don’t pay federal income taxes …lean Republican."
Is there any doubt that Romney is a pandering idiot that doesn't give a rat's ass about anyone and is merely playing the gullible as pawns in his quest for power?

When the term "class warfare" came up months and months ago, Rmoney, Boehner and others accused Mr Obama of initiating it, of being divisive. Well, I didn't believe it then and I certainly don't believe it now. Caught on tape, Rmoney is the divisive one. Rmoney is clearly the one engaged in class warfare.
I watched the clip of Mr Obama on the David Letterman Show. In response to Letterman's question about the 47% tape and comment, Mr Obama answered as follows:
"I don't know what he [Rmoney] was talking about, but I'll tell you this, when I won in 2008, 47% of the American people voted for John McCain. They didn't vote for me. What I said on election night was even though you didn't vote for me, I hear your voices, and I'm going to work as hard as I can to be your president. And one of the things I've learned as president is that you represent the entire country … my expectation is that if you want to be president, you have to work for everyone, not just for some. . ."
Now, juxtapose that comment against the elitist comment of Rmoney — he won't worry about the 47% etc etc ad nauseum.
Get out the vote!!!!!
Vote Democratic 2012!!!!! Vote Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!
The irony struck me as well. The problem is that many of the Republicans on Social Security, etc., are too brainwashed to realize it includes them.
Seriously where does Mitt Romney think the 1% get their money from, mana from heaven like some computer game. They get it from gouging that 47% every working day of their shortened lives. The 1% get their billions from underpaying and overcharging that 47%, day in and day out.
That 47% already paid their taxes, pay them more and they would pay more taxes, want to charge they more taxes, well then, follow the money trail to where all their money is. The money they didn't get paid and the money they got overcharged, and tax the hell out of it, of wait it's now in the pockets of your buddies the psychopathic 1%.
Want to tax the 47% more, then pay them their fair share and stop bloody ripping them off.
Welcome Robert. 🙂
Sadly, the 1% believe they earned every penny of our money that Republicvans gave them.
From an article by LZ Granderson, CNN Contributor:
"Eight of the 10 states with the highest percentage of filers who didn't pay federal income taxes are red states that voted for John McCain in 2008: Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Idaho. Only New Mexico and Florida voted for Obama. Conversely, of the 10 states with the lowest percentage of filers who didn't pay federal income taxes, seven voted for Obama. Only Alaska, Wyoming and North Dakota voted for McCain."
My, my, my. Does this mean that Rmoney doesn't want or need the Republican vote either? Looks like we're home free, Kiddies!
Pleas, God. Make it so.
The nonpartisan Tax Foundation has a nice Map and List of Non-Payers of Federal Income Taxes by State
(It's from 2008 data, but it's the latest I could find on a cursory search)
http://taxfoundation.org/article/states-vary-widely-number-tax-filers-no-income-tax-liability
Dang! It looks like a Republican road map.

Have to admit—I realllllllllllly enjoyed this article and several of the comments—yep—-made my day—–.
Also——http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/18/a-mood-of-gloom-afflicts-the-romney-campaign/?smid=tw-thecaucus&seid=auto
As the senile old Eastwood has said——-ClusterF— and Make my day—-
Thanks Gypsy. All three links are excellent!
Thanks Gypsy!
The comments on the Daily Kos are quite amusing, at least enough to keep me amused for awhile! And the NY Times article is excellent. I'm going to try to post it on another site.
http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/karoli/mitt-romneys-uncensored-disdain-poor-people
Another good read—some I hadn't seen before—-
What can I say about Mitt-theTwit except that he has no idea about those of us in that 47% he so disdains. Living on Social Security in one of the most expensive cities in the U.S. is not easy. I really would love to see him and the Mrs.'s live on what we live on in Santa Fe.
Welcome Carrie! 🙂
I've been to Santa Fe, so I know. What we live on, Mitt considers shoeshine money.
Damn, I think I am becoming senile! A thought from yesterday that I kept forgetting (not once but multiple times). . .
So, Rmoney says that his comments were "Not elegantly stated." and he went further to say he was responding to a question and speaking off the cuff.
Well what the hell would he do in the midst of diplomatic discussions when asked a question? Say
"I'll get back to you on that sometime."? or
"Let me get my official speaker to respond to that for you."? or
"I'm the leader of the free world! I don't have to answer the questions of mere rabble!"?
While there might be some very few occasions for that, a POTUS needs to be able to speak off the cuff, intelligently, with purpose and no bear scat! A POTUS needs to be adaptable. I'm sure that some days must feel like the POTUS is in Spain with the Running of the Bulls! That is something that Rmoney is totally incapable of doing!
You're absolutely right. If he can't think on his feet, we don't need him.
His message seemed on target to me… Those who feel entitled will vote for Obama. I didn't pay taxes till I was 32, but I would've voted for Romney even if I weren't paying taxes. It seems to me that the statement it's not what your country can do for you it's what you can do for your country is as true today as it ever was. I really believe that the entitlement path is one that drives down self worth and reduces the countries median income. Of course we should still care for the needy, but we shouldn't mortgage our future to do it.
Welcome FPT. 🙂
You're missing an awful lot of the point here. We don't have 47% of America on welfare. Most entitlements, we bought and paid for. People on Social Security paid in all our lives. We paid for our Medicare. Unemployed people paid unemployment insurance. Veterans earned their entitlements with their service. We do not deserve the didrespect and disdain, Romney has leveled at us.
