It’s almost 6:00 AM here and the temperature at my desk just dropped below 90°. UGH! I’m posti9on this and one other article, but I won’t have time to distribute links, and catching up on comments will depend on what’s up when I return from the doctor. Tomorrow is a prison volunteer day.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 3:23 (average 4:25). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From MoveOn: 20 Years Of GOP Strategy In One Little Cartoon
This could not be more accurate!
From NY Times: Did Paul Ryan quote a famous 1960s Black Panther Party slogan in his speech on Saturday announcing his candidacy for vice president on the Republican ticket?
For a moment, it sounded that way. Recalling words of advice offered by his late father, Mr. Ryan said, “I still remember a couple of things he would say that have really stuck with me. ‘Son, you are either part of the problem or part of the solution.’ Regrettably, President Obama has become part of the problem, and Mitt Romney is the solution.”
Give Mr. Ryan credit for making the Republicans’ big tent a little bigger. The slogan “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem” served as a mantra of sorts for Eldridge Cleaver, the minister of information for the Black Panthers, the extreme black nationalist group. [emphasis added]
That cuts it! Get out your sheets and hoods, Republicans! Willard the Etch and Lyin’ Ryan are Black Panthers! 😉
From Washington Post: President Obama and presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney clashed last week over a federal tax credit for businesses that produce wind and other alternative energy.
In campaign events in Colorado, Obama emphasized his support for extending the tax credit and attacked Romney for opposing the extension, framing his opponent’s stance as a threat to job creation.
Supporting Green Energy is necessary for survival. Romney and Ryan give survival a back seat to even more profit for the world’s richest corporations.

3:17 Well girls? Do I have a lock on this puzzle?
3:43 You've got me locked out! Now if I could only find the key to my heart! Interesting that the average is now showing as 6:22
ARGH!
3:25 The guys beat us both today.
Puzzle —- 3:43 I've been locked out again!
MoveOn — I looked at the first box and knew exactly what was going to happen. So, so true and for me, very evident by the past 5 years. Also reminds me of my younger brother when were much, much younger. I seemed to get blamed for a lot of miscreant deeds.
NY Times — Didn't know where that saying came from but have used it many, many times. Self-serving politicians are part of the problem (a big part!) and it is up to the people to come together with the solution by voting out the deadwood and voting in some intelligence, reason, compassion. . . . and participating in the building of a future.
Washington Post — "Supporting Green Energy is necessary for survival. Romney and Ryan give survival a back seat to even more profit for the world’s richest corporations." — AMEN!!!!!
Cartoon — Medicare will be either one toxic soup or virtually non existent if Romney and Ryan get their mitts on it (pun intended!).
Me too!
I hope he grew out of it.
Agree,
Thanks!
Bingo!
No solutions, only creation of problems. Is that the RepublicanT mantra?
It does seem as though those white sheets are coming back into style. Doesn't it?
Is anyone really surprised by their stance on any kind of dirty energy?
Medicare would be decimated under Rmoney/Ryan, along with many other socail programs.
Not really. They have two.
Or coming out of the closet.
No.
Amen!
