The next three days here will be hot ones, but I’ll try to keep blogging, because my posting will be light nest week with a doctor appointment Monday, a prison volunteer day Tuesday, and an echocardiogram Friday. I’m current with replies to comments.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 4:32 (average 4:57). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From MoveOn: Take One Look At This Romney Jobs Plan And Let Us Know What Is Missing
And what else is missing? YOU!
From Chicago Tribune: Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has picked Congressman Paul Ryan as his vice presidential running mate, the Romney campaign confirmed on Saturday.
Woooo Hoooo!! This will get him out of the House too!
From Politico: The federal government is pulling out all the stops to help farmers and ranchers struggling with severe drought conditions and the searing heat that has persisted across much of the country this summer, President Barack Obama said in a weekly address released Saturday.
“Cattle farmers are struggling to feed their animals. Many folks are seeing their livelihoods dry up in front of their eyes. And if we don’t get relief soon, Americans everywhere will start feeling the pinch, with higher prices on grocery store shelves all across the country,” Obama said. “We can’t let that happen.”
Most farms and ranches are corporate now, and but this aid is still needed to minimize increases in the price of food.

Maybe you should work in a little R&R in there sometime, TC. Thank you for all you do, I have been reading your posts for some time now (even do a puzzle now and then), you do good but remember to take care of you.
Thanks Gypsy. I take care of me as well as I can. 🙂
Hey Tom you should do the top ten reasons Romney picked Ryan
Al ten are the same. Assholes flock together.
3:33 This time should spice things up a bit.
4:14 No kidding! Too spicey for me. I'm a savoury person! Ok Patty, it's up to you!

Puzzle — 4:14 Too spicey for me!
MoveOn — Canada 150,000!? Really? We find that a lot of our jobs go south of the 49th but I can't give you numbers as I'm not sure where to find them. Would many of these represent the oil/gas industry? Of course we know that Romney favours the Keystone XL and I have said from the beginning that there would be more Canadian jobs with that than American, a lot more. I am surprised though as Canada has universal healthcare and the right to organise unions is entrenched in the constitution. Maybe Romney and Ryan don't know this, or they are counting on The Right Honourable Twit Harper to amend the constitution when nobody is looking! Hmmmmm….
Vote Democratic 2012!!!!! Vote Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!
Veep! — Out of the House and into the unemployment line with any luck!
Farms Crisis — I heard on the radio this afternoon that because of the US drought, Canadians can expect their grocery bills to climb by 4% by the middle of 2013, which is twice as high as it otherwise would be. They gave no figures for the US but when you consider for example, how much corn and soybeans are used in the production of other food stuffs, literally everything will go up.
Cartoon — The times, they were a changin', but not fast enough!
Beat me!
Lynn, I wish I knew.
Amen!
It's forecast to be even worse here.
Too true!
