CNN has always tilted a bit to the right.  After all they are a giant corporation with their own corporate agenda, and most of their revenue comes from advertising by other corporations like Big Insurance, Big Oil and Banksters.  Lately, however, CNN seems to have shifted so far right that I often forget I’m not watching Faux Noise, the Republican Ministry of Propaganda.

5CNNThis is the type of segment where CNN shows itself to be every bit as bad as Fox, where we're constantly treated to the false equivalency game when talking about crazy Republican members of Congress who've gone off the rails, as Rep. Allen West does just about every time the man opens his mouth.

Host Wolf Blitzer asks RNC Chair Reince Priebus about Allen West's statements at a campaign rally where he was bashing the Affordable Care Act and the Supreme Court's ruling on the matter and made the outrageous statement that President Obama would "rather have you be his slave" for possibly allowing taxes to go up and made the ridiculous analogy that everyone should possibly have to purchase a Glock 9mm handgun if you're going to make them purchase health insurance.

And of course rather than admit or say out loud that it is the Republican Party that is the problem and won't control the flame throwing mouthbreathers within their ranks, here's Blitzer pretending there's anyone on the Democratic side of the aisle acting the same way… [emphasis added]

Inserted from <Crooks and Liars>

There is nobody in office on the Democratic side acting like Allen West, infamous for his calls for Second Amendment solutions.  For Blitzer to deceptively imply otherwise is nothing but Republican propaganda.  The closest we have had as Alan Grayson, but with him, there is one incontrovertible difference.

Grayson told the truth.

  1. Beware confirmation bias, dude. When you say there's no Dems as bad as the Repugnantcunts your slip, or should I say bias, is showing. They are out there, brother. What is really needed, especially in this election cycle, is a bit of courtesy from both sides. And YOU, my friend, aren't doing your part.

    • The meme that Repubican apologists like to use claiming “Both Sides Do It’ has produced “journalism” that now reads like The Onion.

No, there is NO liberal equivalent to the bloviating of Rushbo Limbaugh
No, there is NO liberal equivalent to the perfidy of Palin
No, there is NO liberal equivalent to the hatemongering of Hannity
No, there is NO liberal equivalent to the blathering of Bachmann
No, there is NO liberal equivalent to the obloquy of Beck
No, there is NO liberal equivalent to the wacked-out McCarthyism witch-hunts of West
No, there is NO liberal equivalent to the malevolence of Malkin
No, there is NO liberal equivalent to the calumnies of Coulter

Liberals did NOT cheer the death of a homeless person who could not afford health insurance – Repubicans did that during their primary debate
Liberals did NOT boo a brave soldier serving in a War Zone (created by Bush’s lies) just because that soldier is gay – Repubicans did that during their primary debate
Liberals did NOT cheer torture and waterboarding – Repubicans did that during their primary debate

Liberals do NOT cheer cruelty, we do NOT think ignorance is noble, we do NOT place laurels on flame-throwing rhetoric, and we do NOT celebrate violence.
Those are the sole domains of Repubicans, so any efforts at trying to claim “Both Sides Do It” is just plain wrong – because NO … THEY DO NOT!

    • Upton, I would have countered well, but Nameless (SoINeedAName) has deflated your unfounded criticism so well that I have nothing left to say, except this.

Your argument is typical of those who are supporting third party candidates.  Every lefty who voted for a third party candidate for President is voting for Mitt Romney and Republican rule.

    1. Don't get Sick
    2. If you do get sick
    3. Die Quickly

  3. CNN has been heading in this direction for a long time.  They started wearing on my nerves during the political campaigns of 2008. They  used every opportunity to trash Hilary Clinton all during the campaign.  They let air bags who know nothing pontificate all the time and do very little to counter their outrageous statements.  I no longer watch Meet the Press because it has become a platform for  right wing politicians.  CNN would be deleted if I were the only one here who watches the news.

  4. Priebus, chairman of the RNC on Allen West — "…one of the most dynamic new Republican stars; he has a bright future; important member of Congress and I'm not going to throw him under the bus…" This for a man that claims:

    1)  there are more than 70 communists in the House Democratic Party; (4/2012 "…referring to the 76 members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.  The Communist Party has publicly referred to the Progressive Caucus as its allies.   The Progressive Caucus speaks for itself.  These individuals certainly aren’t proponents of free markets or individual economic freedom.” according to West)

    2) In talking about Mr Obama, he said recently he'd "rather having you be his slave" which is so disrespectful;

    3) And if I recall correctly, West back in July 2011 got himself into deep doo-doo for his sexist outbursts in Congress "…condemning fellow Florida Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz for her “attack” on him on the House floor, calling her “vile,” “unprofessional” and “not a lady,” there isn’t a peep to be heard from the party." — I listened to her 'attack' and his name isn't  even mentioned although there is a reference to a South Florida representative but it is certainly no attack.

CNN's Wolf Blitzer, although he says he laments the lack of civility in general, does nothing of what I would think an investigative reporter or interviewer should be doing.  Priebus was evading all sorts of things and Blitzer was just lying down.  He let's the lies and misinformation go unchallenged.

If this is CNN, yes they are a poor cousin to Faux Noise.  I say a 'poor cousin' because at least you know with Faux Noise that they are manipulating and lying.  CNN is still trying to pretend they are respectable.

Makes me wonder how anyone can call this news!

    • He seems the Congressional version of Herman Cain.  I doubt that it's coincidental that the black candidates Republicans put forward are so unsavory as to invite prejudice.

  5. Priebus is an even worse head of the RepublicanT party than Michael Steele was.

Floridians, show you still have brains left and elect Alan Grayson come November!

  6. These people just say anything that comes into their heads at the moment.  Then their statements get turned into Fox News memes to be chanted by all the base all over the internet.  There's no independent thought.  Independent thinkers can't be republicans.  One only needs to possess the logical thinking skills of the average fifth grader to see through the right wing nonsense. That the likes of Herman Caine could have become a presidential candidate; that Mitt Romney can store his stolen money in offshore accounts; that the party attacks all who disagree –  is stunning when you realize that these clowns carry half of the voter support in the USA.  it's time for the GOP to fall from power totally and irreversibly. I hope that time is coming soon.

    • Angie, I think they supported Cain to claim non-prejudice, while simultaneously presenting negative stereotype.
