Willard and the Republican Party have a problem. After they supported such egalitarian policies as Papers Please and self-deportation, after they unanimously voted against the Dream Act, and since they are pandering to racists and nativists for support, they need to cover that all up, they are trying find reason to oppose Obama’s immigration policy that do not highlight the truth their actions have revealed. For the results they deserve a PhD in Bullsh*tilogy. (PhD = Piled Higher and Deeper.)
Last week, President Barack Obama announced a Department of Homeland Security directive allowing undocumented immigrants eligible for the DREAM Act to avoid deportation and acquire work authorization. People who were brought to the country under the age of 16, have been here longer than five years, and are under the age of 30 are eligible, but only if they don’t have a criminal record and they have graduated high school, obtained a GED, or served in the armed forces.
Republicans have voiced a number of objections to the new policy, but many of them are complete nonsense. Here are just a few of the false narratives we’ve seen repeated over the past few days:
This is amnesty!…
This is the DREAM Act by fiat!…
It’s a power grab!…
Republicans would have compromised, if only Obama had let them!…
Republicans would compromise, if only Obama secured the border!…
Obama had his chance to reform immigration and didn’t make it a priority!…
Obama messed things up for Rubio!… [emphasis original]
Inserted from <Mother Jones>
Needless to say, all these reasons listed, except for the last, are lies.
The source article is a goldmine of information and links. What I have done is shared only the heading for each section. I strongly encourage you to click through and read the rest.
I could be not more pleased that Republicans are doing such an excellent job of alienating Latinos for the sake of pleasing racists and nativists.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Your image says it concerning the GOP objections– What President Obama did was the right , fair thing to do—-as well as being an end run around the Ripiglicans– I am proud of his actions–
IMO- (not so darn humble) any one who votes Republican in this election is either one of the 1% pigs at the trough , a pandering racist or a damm fool–
…and/or all of the above.
Great link – missed it, even though I visit Mother Jones daily, so Thanks!
And as a reciprocal gift, Think Progress has has a good post titled "Not A Dream: Romney’s Top 5 Comments On Immigration During The Republican Primary"

Great link backatcha! I missed it even though I read Think Progress daily. 🙂
Thumbs up ^… Obama/Biden 2012
This is amnesty!… The Republican/Teabaggers revere St Ronny (the jelly bean nit wit) yet he too had an "amnesty"
This is the DREAM Act by fiat!… I didn't know that the Dream Act was about owning an Italian made car?!
It’s a power grab!… No, Mr Obama is simply doing the right thing, something that the Republican/Teabaggers can't understand since they only know deceit, larceny and obstruction!
Republicans would have compromised, if only Obama had let them!… Republican/Teabaggers don't have 'compromise' or 'negotiate' in their vocabulary. Notice that the word 'compromise' has the word 'promise' in it and the Republican/Teabaggers don't honour their promises either!
Republicans would compromise, if only Obama secured the border!… There's that damn fence again! Are we just a tad xenophobic Republican/Teabaggers?
Obama had his chance to reform immigration and didn’t make it a priority!… Hard to make anything a priority if there are a bunch of Republican/Teabagger obstructionist rabble on your every move. From Mother Jones "… they are now attacking the president for being unable to overcome their successful obstruction."
Let's hope that the Republican/Teabaggers do what they also do so well — lie! The GOP also should watch because there is another group that is surpassing Latinos in immigration numbers — Asians.
Amen to all of the above!
Every time that Rubio mentions the Dream Act, someone ought to have him explain why a Cuban can reach Florida and automatically get amnesty, but a Mexican must go to the end of the line.
Welcome Victor! 🙂
Excellent point!
Or how he is a refugee when his family left Cuba under Batista.
Rmoney is doing a great job of alienating Latinos. Keep up the good work, Mittens! I'm sure every time you oopen your mouth, another group of people is highly offended and turned off by your very image.
May he offend everyone so well!
