I’m rushing to get as much done as I can before I have to leave for my physical therapy appointment.  I’m current with replies.  Tomorrow appears routine.

From Houston Chronicle: President Barack Obama is winning the opening round in the battle over immigration, according to a Bloomberg poll released today, putting Republicans on the defensive with his decision to end the deportations of some illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children,

Sixty-four percent of likely voters surveyed after Obama’s June 15 announcement said they agreed with the policy, while 30 percent said they disagreed. Independents backed the decision by better than a two-to-one margin.

No surprise here.  The move was as practical as it was politically brilliant.

From TPM: Angus King, the independent former governor who is running for Maine’s open Senate seat, won’t say which party he will caucus with until after he’s elected in November, reports USA Today. In an interview, King said, “I don’t answer that question because I don’t know.”

Interesting.  I know little about him, except that he supports Obama.

  3. Puzzle — I am definitely no threat!
     
    MoveOn — Robert Reich is always so spot on!  Even a Republican/Teabagger and a Faux Noise acolyte can understand the issue, if they had the will to understand!  He is also a decent illustrator — a man of many talents!
     
    Immigration — A good moral and political decision!  Now, how will Rmoney deal with it?  If he calls the president out on it, he stands to lose a chunk of the Latino vote, a vote he needs in order to win.  If he doesn't call him out, he'll tick off died in the wool Republican/Teabaggers.  Sheriff Arpaio has already said he'll not heed any federal law and then proceeded to arrest a 6 year old undocumented child.  What a guy.
     
    Angus King — "…won’t say which party he will caucus with until after he’s elected in November…." — I think this is hardly fair to voters who have the right to know who and what they are supporting.  After seeing the debacle in one state (was it Michigan?) where the candidate, a Democrat, waited until the last minute and then filed his papers as a Republican/Teabagger, jumping ship and not allowing for the Democrats to come up with a candidate, I don't think that not identifying the party you will caucus with is wrong.
     
    Cartoon — You've come a long way, baby!  But there is still a lot more to do to realise the pre-amble of the Constitution.
