I’m feeling pretty drained today, because it was another hot one, reaching 96° at my desk.  I’m hoping to get everything up and out before the groceries arrive.  I’m current with replies.  Tomorrow appears normal.

From LA Times: The news that casino magnate Sheldon Adelson is pumping $10 million into a “super PAC” backing Republican presidential challenger Mitt Romney underscores how swiftly this campaign’s state of play can be affected by a single wealthy donor.

Billionaires who want Rmoney to win, want YOU to lose!

  1. MoveOn — Petition signed.  Scary that Baby Bush actually has a leg up on Rmoney on this issue.

LA Times — "… Sheldon Adelson is pumping dumping $10 million …" right into the sewer!  It is obscene when the 1% and corporations can dump that kind of money, and foreign money to boot, into an election!  Election laws need to be overhauled!  Citizens United needs to go the way of the dodo bird — extinct!

Crooks and Liars — Rmoney, in touch with the common man?  NOT!!!!!  Very funny piece by Letterman!

Cartoon — Good thing the Bonus Army acted when they did, otherwise the payout that wasn't supposed to happen until 1945 would have been eaten up by the costs of WWII.  I hadn't heard of this before, but very interesting.  One of many good reasons to call the 1930s 'the dirty 30s'!

    • Isn't it though?

The Koch Brothers will be spending ten times that much.

      Agree!

That was the last time Republicans tanked the economy.

  2. 3:31 You got me. It's up to Jerry to beat you now.
Thanks for posting the link to the petition. I signed.
Isn't it strange that these billionaires can afford to pump millions of dollars into PACs to support their candidates but can't afford to pay their fair share in income taxes?
    I loved the Letterman piece!
