Portland is one of the cleanest cities there are.  Gentle rain aids progressive government to provide lots of green spaces and remove refuse.  Portland has done nothing to deserve the vile infestation expected to descend today.  Infestation of what?  Of Rmoney!

Today, Mitt Romney makes a brief pit stop in Portland to extract some cash – without bothering to actually meet any actual voters, or even distract the press from his fundraiser by reading a book to some kids or visiting a factory floor.

Meanwhile, the Oregon AFL-CIO has invited all of us to greet Governor Romney in true Portland style.

Oregon AFL-CIO @ORStrongVoice

Let’s welcome Mitt Romney to Oregon – tomorrow at 11:30am in front of the Governor Hotel in downtown Portland. #WelcometoOR

“S’long, dear.  I’m going out now to touch some of the common people.”

  4. Sorry for yo guys.  He wouldn’t dare come to IL ’cause he’d be booed off the stage!

  5. Where’s the EPA when you need them?  Somebody please report severe air pollution at the Governor Hotel in Portland!  My condolences to all those who have to breathe that toxic soup!

Good on the protesters for keeping the issues out front so even Faux Noise acolytes can see.

  6. My heart goes out to the unfortunate people of Portland. Is there nothing to be done to stop this tidal wave of pollution?

  7. Thanks all!  For personal relief, I ate three BIG bowls of chile and shut myself in the bathroom with the windows closed.  After a few minutes, the air smelled much better. 🙄
