Yesterday a group of about 30 students from U of O visited the prison to meet with about 50 of my guys and ask them questions in small groups.  Mostly I just sat back and observed, but I joined the students in my groups and asked a couple questions designed to get the guys to dig a little deeper into the root emotions and beliefs that set them on downward spirals.  They were magnificent and tackled the questions from both the students and me deeply and honestly.  The powerful effect they had on the students was clear to see.  In addition my guys gave a charity that provides basic goods and services to homeless youth $775.  We’re talking about what slightly over 100 guys saved from their prison pay of $1 – $2 per day.  I’m exhausted, so this is today’s only article.  I’m current with replies.  If I have recovered, I’ll be back to posting tomorrow.  If not, Sunday.

From MoveOn: Why Mitt Romney Should Never Be Elected President. Ever!

25Rmoney

This is how he did business, does campaign, and would govern.

From Washington Post: A drop in gas prices encouraged Americans to spend more at restaurants and bars in April. And that trend could continue over the holiday. Pump prices are down 27 cents since their peak in early April, to $3.67 a gallon, where they’re likely to stay this weekend, predicts Tom Kloza, the chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service. That’s 12 cents cheaper than last year.

I could be hypocrite and claim that Obama is responsible for lower gas prices, but we’re better than that. Obama is not responsible for the drop, just like he was not responsible for the earlier rise in gas prices for which Republicans vocally blamed him for weeks.

From MSNBC: Rachel Maddow discusses the importance of recalling Fartfuhrer Walker with John Erpenbach (D-Fitzwalkerstan)

  1. 3:32  We seem to have lost Patty.   🙁

  2. Wisconsin, get out and vote!  I don’t want to see my northern neighbor turn red!

  3. I would vote for the monkey though…

    • If the choice is a Republican or a flatulent monkey with mange, halitosis, and BO, that masturbates in public and throws feces at supporters, vote for the monkey!

  4. MoveOn — Rmoney is nothing more than a pathetic BULLY!  How in hell does he think he is fit to be president when he can’t respond to questions off the cuff in an intelligent manner?  What will he do when confronted by a recalcitrant foreign power — bomb first, ask questions later?

Washington Post — No wonder BC motorists along the border are heading to the US to gas up!  Here, the price of a gallon of gas is $6.61, 50% of that in federal, provincial and transit taxes!

Fartfuhrer Walker — I have two words for the Fartfuhrer — Goodbye jackass!

Cartoon — Long live monkeys!  I’d vote for this guy!

  5. Re: Romney’s Class of ’65: Once a homophobic predator capitalist bully, always a homophobic predator capitalist bully. Willard was a spineless coward even in hjigh school!

  6. Why is it that in a number of (mostly) Southern States Repubicans want to make it legal to instruct our children how to attack science from their sanctimonious, ideological standpoints … but Zeus forbid that students should be able to question religious dogma from a scientific standpoint?

  7. I’d vote for the ape, no problem. 🙂

The southern states are now a lost cause for Democracy. I know I live here. They are rabid in their hatred for all things scientific, all things based in FACTS, and all things ‘other’, that includes a half-black man in the White House…..and all blacks in general, actually all HUMAN BEINGS not white. I am so sick in my soul of existing down here I could go off the deep end. I can’t sell my property because I owe more than it’s worth and no one around here has the money or the credit to get a loan to buy it. Otherwise, my peeps, I and my other half and my four footed Children of the Korn would be so outta here in .02 nanoseconds. Lock, stock and smokin barrels outta here to points northward and unknown to any in this Dawg forsaken hellhole called ‘The South’ and in particular, TexASS…..
