I kept my doctor appointment on Monday and learned that I still have strep, so I had to cancel my volunteer day yesterday. My new antibiotic has me completely knocked out, dozing most of the time, and too groggy to function the rest of the time. I hope to be back tomorrow of Friday, but will post another notice if not.

Take care of yourself and don’t rush it. We, and the puzzles, with be waiting for you. You will need your strength to beat Patty. Me, not so much.
Sorry to hear you’re still under the weather – but hopefully on the mend!
If you happen to enjoy watching birds – and even if you don’t (I’m not particularly a big birdwatcher other than the feeder outside my den window) – there’s a fascinating LiveStream webcam run by Cornell U. that’s been monitoring the nest of two Great Blue Herons in Ithaca, NY. Mom & Dad are the proud impending parents of FIVE eggs that should begin hatching in the next 5-10 days. It’s been a real hoot following their progress – especially the LiveChat that accompanies the WebCam. (My name there is “HereOnItsHerons” – but I don’t say much.)
It runs 24/7 and has a special lens so you can view it even in the dark of night. Their nest is located 50′ above the waters of Sapsucker Woods Pond on the outskirts of Ithaca. The first link is to the WebCam itself; the second is to one of the several Flickr Photostreams pages different Monitors have put up. But this picture is a good orientation to their nest, the two cameras and microphone. One camera is overhead and can be moved w/ a joystick, so they can watch the Herons flying around (but it’s usually just a stationary view of the nest from overhead).

Thanks for the update, Tom. You take care of yourself. We need you for all your excellent info. We’ll be waiting patiently.
Jeez, you’re like a walking disease factory, like my kids were when they were little. It seemed like I was going to the doctor every week with one of them! Get better soon and stay away from anyone – luckily, I live in Chicago, so you can’t give it to me, but with my luck, just posting here will give me strep. I swear, I’ve gotten sick several times just talking to a friend who was sick! Make sure you drink a lot of OJ.
Strep sucks. I have had it a couple of times when I was on a ship. And since I have a very bad gag reflex they can’t take a swab.
Hope you are better soon

I’m glad you’re all right. Feel better, Tom.
Tom, do I need to send Dr Winnie down to look after you?
Please feel better! We miss you, but more importantly, we want you back healthy!
Thank you all
