Yesterday there were new developments is the Trayvon Martin case. In the first, new video of George Zimmerman belies the Zimmerman account. There are no signs of injury, no grass stains, and no blood. I’m sorry, but you don’t shoot someone, who is sitting on top of you, in the chest without getting doused in blood in the process. In the second, we learned that the senior State Attorney, Norman Wolfinger, and the Sanford Police Chief were at the crime scene on the night of the shooting, and that it was the States Attorney, who decided to release Zimmerman. Such high ranking personnel at the crime scene of what was, at the time, a very low profile case, is unheard of. I have a guess as to why.
Newly emerged video reportedly shot by surveillance cameras at the Sanford, Fla., Police Department on the night of the Trayvon Martin shooting offers the public the first look at Martin’s assailant, George Zimmerman, on the night of the shooting.
ABC News, which obtained the video and released it Wednesday night, said it shows “no blood or bruises” on the handcuffed, trim- and muscular-looking suspect as he steps out of the back of a police cruiser, is frisked by an officer and walks escorted into the police building.
The quality of the video is not very high, but it appears to suggest that if Zimmerman was injured that night, the injuries were not serious… [emphasis added]

Now to me it seems incredible that the States Attorney of Florida could have ordered Zimmerman released, after being at the scene, hearing Zimmerman’s story, and seeing that the physical evidence and that story were irreconcilable. So why did Wolfinger do it?
Now, I have no hard evidence to support this hypothesis, so I am not claiming that it is accurate. However, I have thought of no other scenario that fits the evidence. Remember, Norman Worfinger works directly for Republican Florida Governor, Teabagger and Koch sucker extraordinaire, Rick Scott. Scott has been a willing pawn of the NRA and ALEC, the authors and prognosticators of the so-called Stand Your Ground law. It just may be that the presence of such high ranking individuals and the subsequent attempt at coverup were not to protect Zimmerman at all. It just may be that they were an attempt to derail an investigation that could be used to demonstrate why their kill first, ask later legislation is such a bad law and interfere with the Republican campaign to institute it nationwide. There may be some other explanation, but I haven’t seen it yet.

Someone at DemocraticUnderground put together this damning photo montage:
Zimmerman has more stories than Dr. Suess.
Head wound requiring stitches…?
As a former Marine Law Enforcement Officer in the US Coast Guard, George Zimmerman should be in jail awaiting first degree murder trial..
I think that the “good old boy” explanation is likely the correct one.
Yours is a really interesting idea– on top of George being Daddy Judge problem child
Zimmerman’s story has more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese.
Zi9mmerman must be arrested, tried, convicted, and sentenced to life without parole for first degree murder for the senseless stalking and then premeditated slaying of Martin. Mr. Z is a massive racist and liar. And Worfinger should be suspended without pay pending a very thorough investigation relating to his motives in freeing Mr.Z as he did.
On Wednesday night, I watched the Lawrence O’Donnell coverage of this and found it fascinating. Fascinatinating might seem an odd choice of words, but what was fascinating were the apparent lengths tp coverup this crime — Zimmerman Sr is a retired judge coming in support of his son but only in shadow (I guess sonny boy is an embarrasment!); if Trayvon is the agressor, why are there no obvious signs of thrown punches on either body?; if Zimmerman’s gun is in his belt and he is on the ground with both arms pinned by Martin, how did Zimmerman get to his gun to fatally shoot Martin?; why are there no grass stains, blood stains etc on Zimmerman — surely there should be blood stains from Martin on Zimmerman since he shot him while he was pinned down by Martin?; why are high profile public officials at the scene of the murder of an ordinary kid (no disrespect of Trayvon Martin intended); when told not to pursue Martin by the 911 dispatcher, why did Zimmerman disobey and pursue anyway?
If this is the first challenge of the “stand your ground” law, then I can see that the Republican/Teabaggers of Gov Scott, ALEC and the NRA would want to ensure that nothing was done to endanger this law. Zimmerman, who was heard on tape using the racist term ‘coon’, is likely being used as a political pawn by those who should know better. And I doubt that Zimmerman will object to that providing he gets off and doesn’t go to prison for murder. To me, this is a case of racially motivated first degree murder and should be tried as such.
