Yesterday I slept late, defeated a mountain of mail, and did some extra research. I’m current with replies. Today I have a lunch meeting with a former prisoner, who was released a couple months ago, to review his progress and determine what additional assistance he may need.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today it took me 3:45 (average 4:37). To do it, click here. How did you do.
Short Takes:
From Alternet: UN women leaders on Thursday called for greater equality between the sexes on the occasion of International Women’s Day amid demonstrations and marches for female rights.
Thank you to all the wonderful women, without whom life would not be livable.
From Right Wing Watch: Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) appeared on Voice of Christian Youth America’s radio program Crosstalk with Vic Eliason yesterday to promote his new book The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future, where he repeated his recurrent claim that human influenced climate change is impossible because “God’s still up there.” Inhofe cited Genesis 8:22 to claim that it is “outrageous” and arrogant for people to believe human beings are “able to change what He is doing in the climate.”
What is really outrageous and arrogant is having a US Senator ignoring the Establishment Clause, and trying to legislate Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christianity.
From Common Dreams: The Canadian military has had a close relationship for years with Xe Services, formerly known as Blackwater, and was paid $2.4 million to train Canadian soldiers in 2011.
In case you have not heard, Xe, aka the Republican SS, is now owned by Monsanto the GMO company.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I’ve seen this photo of a Florida castle. Does anyone know who own it?
International Women’s Day — I came upon another article on Alternet about the contributions that women make that you might find interesting.

TC — “Thank you to all the wonderful women, without whom life would not be livable.” Even if they wear size 9’s?
Climate Change — Inhofe is an idiot! How convenient that he, and other climate change deniers, feel free to pick and chose what parts of the Bible and Christianity in this case, to twist and distort beyond all recognition just to “prove” a point. I guess he forgot the part about God granting human beings free will? Such FUBAR! Then of course you have Pat Robertson saying that 60 – 80 tornados that devasted a whole mess of states lately are the result of not enough high quality prayer! Oh the arrogance and stupidity of these morons! It is a wonder that humans even evolved to the degree they have, with “thinking” like that.
Canadian Military — Figures that McKay and Harper would authorise a plan like that. Canada used to have a reputation for being peacekeepers, not fighters. Jean Chretien said no to Iraq, thankfully, but we caved to Afghanistan unfortunately. Well I just may have to do some research about this. And to boot, owned by a company that is genetically modifying veggies etc. I wonder if there is a plan in place to genetically modify our soldiers to make them super-soldiers?
Cartoon — That’s a honking big moat! Do you think someone is feeling just a tad insecure in their commonness?
3:54 This one is yours.
Lynn, the 60 to 80 tornadoes is Gods way of saying: Stop this war on women bull shit and lying through your teeth.
