A hallmark of Republican supply-side economics is the millions of jobs these policies have created. The difficulty is that they have created them in Latin America and Asia. Even worse, the method they have used to create them is to rip the jobs from American workers. For Republicans, corporate profit trumps America’s economic success and the well being of the American people. Fortunately a few good companies are insourcing jobs. Barack Obama took time out to honor those companies and commit to incentives to companies to bring jobs back to America.
President Obama said on Wednesday that he would propose tax incentives for companies to bring home manufacturing jobs they had moved overseas, and curtail tax breaks for those that keep relocating jobs abroad.
Flanked by executives from the aerospace, chemical and furniture industries — all of whom are building or expanding factories in the United States — Mr. Obama declared that the nation was beginning to see the reversal of a long-term trend toward outsourcing. He called the new trend, perhaps inevitably, “insourcing.”
“We’re at a unique moment, an inflection point, a period where we’ve got the opportunity for those jobs to come back,” Mr. Obama said in the White House, after meeting with the executives. The American economy, he noted, has added manufacturing jobs for two years in a row, after more than a decade of losses… [emphasis added]

Here’s the video of the event.
The unfortunate part of this is that Obama cannot institute all these policies alone. He is certain to meet stiff opposition from Congressional Republicans, because they oppose anything that does not help millionaires, billionaires and corporate criminals. That’s another reason why your vote in 2012 is so important. If Republicans take control. you can kiss jobs goodbye, because vulture capitalism is the Republican way.

Well said Tom: “vulture capitalism is the Republican way.”
Any American who votes for a RepublicanT needs their head examined.
AMEN! AMEN!
What Phyllis said!
Agree. Which is why it is SO amusing to see Newt Gingrich castigating Romney for his years at Bain Capital which was dedicated to the Republican mission of making money!
I know Mimi. He’s blaming a fellow Republican for acting Republican.
are they imploding? Nothing like watching WWW on the RNC channel!
But LEE, doesn’t the WWW have good guys and bad guys? The RNC has only the latter. 😈
The incentives for those that ‘in-source’ have to go along with no subsidies and stiff penalties for companies that continue to out-source and maintain off-shore facilities. The big hurdle will be the Republican/Teabaggers in Congress who will do anything and everything to bring down Mr Obama. All you have to do is think about the AFP awards announced — you know, the politicians that are bought and paid for by the Kock brothers. Those 5 senators and 39 Representatives are NOT representing the people, but are representing the corporations, specifically the Kock brothers, and corporations are not people and money is not speech.
Mr Obama said “. . . The American economy, he noted, has added manufacturing jobs for two years in a row, after more than a decade of losses… ” Many of those losses stem right out Baby Bushes time in the Whitehouse — a hemmorage to be sure. Now is the time to get back on track. But to effectively do that, the Republican/Teabagger dominated Congress has to go.
Lynn, you’re right. Obama will get zero help from Congress in 2012.
It started under Ronnie Ray Gun. Sadly, Clinton helped it long, because he supported the trade agreements as a trade off with Republicans.
This is good news and I am so glad that in 2012 Obama and the Democrats realize that getting the media and the American people to see some of the work Obama has been trying to do ever since he walked into the door takes team effort and letting the American see that Republians are the party of NO instead of just hearing the word. 2010 was a wake up call for them. But Obama had to deal with the ecomony sliding off the cliff frist with no help from the republians/tea party. Thanks TomCat for this imformative news
Obama/Biden 2012
YVW, Mama and I agree. Poor communications has been a big problem for Obama.
