Yesterday I still felt quite I’ll. I stayed in bed, except for eating and preparing today’s articles. I’m current with replies. Tomorrow I plan to stay down.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today it took me 4:19 (average 5:07). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From CNEWS: More evidence has surfaced of illegal political donations going towards the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta.
A local media outlet reported Thursday money was donated to the PC Lac La Biche St. Paul constituency association by 11 organizations prohibited under Alberta law from donating to any political party.
Are the Tories taking lessons from Gingrich?
From Business Week: Assembly Republicans finally introduced a sweeping bill to streamline Wisconsin’s mining regulations Thursday, unveiling language that calls for state regulators to make a permit decision within a year and limits environmentalists’ challenges.
The measure is designed to jump-start Florida-based Gogebic Taconite’s plans for an iron mine in the Penokee Hills just south of Lake Superior. The bill will almost certainly undergo multiple revisions — Republicans in the state Senate are calling it a starting point — but it’s already triggered one of the fiercest environmental debates the state has seen in more than a decade.
Hurry up with that recall to veto this!
From Raw Story: In Sean Hannity’s world, President George W. Bush succeeded in killing terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden.
The Fox News host on Thursday noted that bin Laden was dead “thanks to George Bush.”
Doesn’t this clarify why Faux Noise Sheeple are less well informed than people with no access to news?
From The Statesman: The U.S. Supreme Court late Friday granted the State of Texas’ motion for a stay of the redistricting maps, possibly throwing a March 6 primary election into disarray.
In blocking the congressional and legislative maps that were drawn by a San Antonio court last month, the high court signaled that it wants to hear from the state and from plaintiffs suing the state about why the maps should or shouldn’t go into effect.
That just in. I was afraid they would do that.

Alberta Progressive Conservatives — TC, did you put this here just for me? How thoughtful.
I have to make it clear that the Alberta Progressive Conservatives, who may be referred to as Provincial Tories, are in no way related to the federal Conservative Party (known as the federal Tories) lead by that Bush middle weight, Stephen Harper. The feds are an amalgamation of the Alliance Party (ultra conservatives with their roots in Alberta) and the old federal Progressive Conservatives. The federal PCs no longer exist. Now that out of the way, Albertans are generally a very conservative lot and very independent minded. Does the term ‘real cowboy’ mean anything? If it’s just in the Lac La Biche St. Paul constituency, then there isn’t the ‘big organisatiional machine’ and it is up to the candidate to police things. If it were going into the provincial coffers, then they have the staff and knowledge and this shouldn’t happen. Either way it is wrong and the Alberta Elect ions will have to investigate and determine a penalty. One thing I found amusing from the article was that one town sent members to a fund raiser so they could ‘lobby’ the provincial members. The town paid the freight. Not only was that an illegal contribution, but lobbying is also restricted. What a mess.
Wisconsin — No kidding, get that recall done and then veto the mine! The slag from that mine will almost certainly screw Lake Superior making it toxic on both sides of the border. It is a beautiful large lake that supplies drinking water etc.
Faux Noise — Someone needs to set Sean Hannity straight. The only thing that Baby Bush did was to make Osama bin Laden into a tunneling gopher who went to ground frequently coming up in different places each time. Mr Obama was the one that managed the ‘kill’ order on bin Laden. If you don’t believe me, look at the dates of Baby Bush’s presidency and look at bin Laden’s date of death. The latter is not within the dates of the former.
Texas — SCOTUS is at it again! What a bunch of marble-heads!
Cartoon — The more I see that man, the dumber he looks! Looking at the current crop, I guess I’d have to agree but it pains me to say so. I think I’m breaking out in hives just looking at him!
OOPS! Lynn, one of these days, I need to ask you to write a guest article breaking down the ins and outs of Canadian politics.
Amen!
Amen Again!
It’s pathetic when the worst in history is better that the best that have.
Hey TC, be glad to do a piece for you but just tell me what you had in mind otherwise I can go on and research to death — did that in history in grade 13 and instead of a 5,000 word essay, I struck out on my own topic, did 20,000+ words and received an A++ (equal to about 97%). Didn’t even get penalised for the length as I really went solo with a subject of “The politics of Montrréal as reflection of provincial politics during the 29th century to about 1965.. Also need to known what time frame you had in mind. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
Lynn, I’d like a concise description of the electoral system and political parties in Canada, written at a level easily understood by people not very sophisticated. It does not have to be a book. 🙂
What a weird name for a political party – Progressive conservative – are they just confused or are they idiots?
I agree – hurry that recall up! Like we need more shit in our rivers, lakes and grounds?
That’s the same thing as that Bush lackey who said “There were no terrorist attacks on the US during Bush’s term”. They are either plain stupid or they believe that stupid shit. Maybe I’m wrong; maybe they are both.
Well, I’d rather have the courts do the redistricting than Delay fucking it up – again.
Well with this group of morons that we have as Repub choices, who can’t decide what they believe in, this will make this an easy win for Obama.
Lisa, I’ll leave that one for Lynn.
Amen!
Amen Again!
May you be a prophetic princess.

The fact that George Bush can start looking good shows you just how bad the current crop of republicans are. Hell, even McCain looks better and Obama crushed him.
Got me, and another good chance next.
Exactly!
4:21
I will never miss him.
Close!
I understand. Of course the point was that the worst pResident in history is better than the current Republican field,
