OWS: The Empire Strikes Back!

It is a rare thing, when we actually get to see the minds of the one percent and analyze their own perspective on their plots to prevent control od their rapacious greed.  None of this should be overly surprising, except to those who still believe that there is no difference between the two political parties.  If you do, that is exactly what the Banksters want you top believe, as the following unequivocally demonstrates.

21bankersA Washington lobbying firm with links to the financial industry has proposed an $850,000 plan to take on the Occupy Wall Street protest and the politicians who support it.

The secret proposal has been revealed in a memo obtained by the MSNBC program ‘Up with Chris Hayes’.

The proposal was written on the letterhead of the lobbying firm Clark Lytle Geduldig & Cranford (CLGC) and addressed to one of its clients, the American Bankers Association (ABA), reports MSNBC.CLGC’s memo proposes that the ABA pay CLGC $850,000 to conduct ‘opposition research’ on Occupy Wall Street in order to construct ‘negative narratives’ about the protests and allied politicians.

The memo also states that Democratic victories in 2012 would be detrimental for Wall Street and names specific races in which it says Wall Street would benefit by electing Republicans instead, the report says.

According to the memo, if Democrats embrace OWS, ‘This would mean more than just short-term political discomfort for Wall Street.

‘It has the potential to have very long-lasting political, policy and financial impacts on the companies in the center of the bullseye.’

The memo also suggests that Democratic victories in 2012 should not be the ABA’s biggest concern. “… (T)he bigger concern,” the memo says, should be that Republicans will no longer defend Wall Street companies.’… [emphasis added]

Ask yourself this.  Why are Banksters targeting Democrats and supporting Republicans?  The answer is simple.  While they may own a few Democrats, line Benedict Nelson (DINO-NE), they own the entire Republican Party.

Here is Chris Hayes as he broke this story.

Democrats will be tough on the Banksters.  Republicans will give them their way.  Banksters know it.  You should too.  Hayes is right.  What other schemes are Banksters and their Republican lackeys  hatching?  The best way not to find out is to remove Republicans from office in 2012.

  1. Their #1 target is Elizabeth Warren. They are very afraid of her, with just cause.

  2. The Democrats better embrace OWS if they know what’s good for them. I can see an Occupy party forming.

  3. GREAT to have you back, TimCat! These bastards like CLGC AND its Wall Street clientele just don’t realize what a futile move they are attempting to make. For in the period of only 2 short months, OWS has spread like wildfire, is continuing to spread, and cannot and WILL NOT be stopped! It is rapidly becoming a new counterculture and will soon force a new and more democratic economic system to become a reality in this country and hopefully across the world. It is only a matter of time. We, who seek a fairer and more equal society on all fronts, are WINNING, slowly but surely, and there’s very little the old world selfish economic interests can do about it! They are rapidly becoming obsolete, and deservedly so!

  4. OWS is facing court injunctions and evictions in various sites in NA.  Vancouver is facing one today, while I believe that Saskatoon and Regina were cleared out late last week.  Victoria, BC was cleared out yesterday and Toronto is up against an injunction too.  Poor Edmonton is still out there but the temperatures have dropped to -27 Celsius so they are quite literally freezing their asses off.  I’m quite sure that the police are hoping that the cold will do their job for them.

With all this, perhaps the methods need to change but the focus remain the same.  Here in Metro Vancouver, there is something called Critical Mass inwhich hundreds of bicyclists come out and ride their bikes as a group.  Because of the numbers, they end up obstructing traffic and draw attention to their cause.  To keep OWS going and the message out there, perhaps this is a route to go — have mass marches and day rallies that serve to keep the momentum going, engage ordinary citizens in the focus of the cause, and educate the general population.

I do believe that the Republican/Teabaggers and Wall Street see OWS as a threat — what was seen as a temporary abberation, is now feared as a longer term ground swell of public support.  Chris Hayes’ article about the memo from  GLGC is excellent and goes to show the lengths to which the political right, banksters and corporatists will go to stake out what they see as their part of the American pie.  While the ABA denies soliciting help from GLGC and has filed it, so to speak, I don’t believe it.

Every Republican/Teabagger in office after 2012 is one too many.

  5. TC, so  glad that you are feeling better and I do agree with what everyone has shared above – Wall St is frightened of OWS, as well they should be.  If more Dems are elected to office in 2012, maybe we’ll : a) be able to get something done in Congress and b) maybe we can finally put in some stricter fiscal regulations against the TBTF groups and have the staff to enforce it.  How great would that be?
