The brouhaha over Herman Cain’s alleged harassment, and his changing stories more often than Romney changes positions, have dominated the media to the extent of obscuring a problem that could have far more serious overtones, because it is a criminal act. Cain has received illegal campaign funding and may have covered it up. I bet you can guess where that funding originated.
Dave Weigel on what happened when a reporter asked Herman Cain’s campaign about his other big problem:
At National Journal’s 2012 preview panel, in the caged environment of a hotel ballroom and live video, ABC News’s Amy Walter asked Block if he could explain the Bice story.
"We’ve retained independent counsel to look at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel story and report back to us," said Block…
The short version of the issue at hand is that Herman Cain’s campaign apparently received startup funds from a non-profit which was then headed by Mark Block, now Cain’s campaign manager. That’s illegal on its face. Moreover, if Block and the campaign did anything to falsify reports to cover their tracks, then they would have been guilty not just of the original crime, but of a coverup… [emphasis added]

Mark Block has a long and sordid history of illegal campaign practices. Like most of Cain’s campaign staff, Block is an operative of the Koch Brothers. Rachel Maddow adds detail and interviews columnist Daniel Bice, the reporter, who broke the story.

While just short of objective certainty, the inductive evidence here makes it clear that, while Cain may enjoy peccadillos, his strongest preference is for Koch.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
It figures…
It sure does!
I’ve long since concluded that I agree with others who believe that Cain is not a serious candidate – he’s in it only to increase his profile so he can make money.
What serious candidate interrupts his “campaign” to go on a book tour – something that led to the resignation of his top aides in both Iowa and New Hampshire? What serious candidate offers a gimmicky 9-9-9- tax plan, and then immediately turns aournd and revises it? What serious candidate considers his absolute ignorance about foreign policy matters (“Uzbeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan”) not as a bug, but a feature? What serious candidate has no ground team – at all – in several major primary states? What serious candidate gives multiple choice options to sexual harassment charges? (OK … now on that one there could be quite a few.)
Cain’s campaign is bankrupt – both ethically and financially. But that’s OK with Herman, because he’s only wanting to cash in down the line on his 15 minutes of political fame. You’ll get to see a lot more of Herman on Faux News … as a well-paid commentator regularly complaining about a conservative black man’s “high-tech lynching” by the “librul media.”
Nameless, you raise an excellent point. Now, if only millions of brainwashed fools would stop taking him seriously.
Cain and his entire entourage are arrogant, corrupt, self-centered, defiant phonies who are more interested in selling books and promoting the Koch brothers’ insane agenda than they are in the American citizen. His entire campaign is a huge fraud.
Amen Pope Jack!
FAUX will probably hire him when he drops out of the campaign “for personal reasons”.
You’re right. African Americans who embrace racism against African Americans are a rare commodity.
Biggest and most obvious Clown in the circus– an in your face shill of the Cock Bros— wonder what all his noise is covering up ?
A whole lot of Koch sucking!
On Google News there is yet another sexual harassment story — a third women has made allegations. Here’s the link. http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/02/politics/cain-allegations/
Is that an ‘Oh shit!’ look on Cain’s face or does he have gas?
A dark horse, no pun intended, comes into the race with no campaign organisation, no previous political experience, and unsure finances. He comes up with a wacky 9-9-9 plan and hasn’t got a clue where Uzbekistan is, let alone how to say the name despite the fact that this country has been in the news as supplying Muslim fighters in various countries including Iraq and Afghanistan. He is originally confronted about 2 incidents of sexual harassment that took place in the 1990s and flip flops more than a landed fish. Now we have an alleged 3rd case of sexual harassment and allegations of possible election financing fraud. He is linked to the Koch Devils and his campaign manager is a Koch snake that was previously, I think 2002, barred from working on election campaigns, although that ban is no longer in force. He takes off on a book signing tour during the campaign which is a really dumb idea. But all this makes me think that he never intended to run for POTUS which on the one hand is good, but also begs the question ‘Why all the theatrics and subderfuge?’. Is it possible that this slimy snake is in the race to thin out the voting thereby guaranteeing, or at least making it easier for an annointed candidate to win?
I think that rather than residing at the White House, Cain will be residing in the Big House (aka Club Fed) maybe even with his buddy the Injustice, Clarence Thomas, who hopefully will be investigated for his illegal, unethical acts. One can only hope.
It seems that a number of the campaigns have already or are about to implode. Cain is accusing Perry of a smear campaign and is on his way out; Perry did a crash and burn last friday and should be gone; Bachmann’s campaign has run out of money so I’ve heard and staff are leaving in various locations like rats from a sinking ship. Gingrich is burrowing in his garden while Huntsman is lost in the wilds of Utah. Johnson, who’s he? And Paul, well, I think his campaign left with the 30 year old comatose patient with no health insurance.
Can’t you just feeeeellll the loooove from these fine Christian folks as they screw the American people with their lies!
Two things, Lynn. First, you prophesied the cartoon that’s about to go up. Second, fine Christan folks have done no such thing. 🙂
That was my attempt at sarcasm with an American accent!
I Know! 😉
