  1. Thank you for keeping this stream alive.  I am weeping.  I am with you.

  2. Thanks for this coverage.  Troy Davis needs to be exonerated.

  3. We are with you troy !!!!

  4. Praying and keeping faith! Thanks, Tom.

  5. It’s 8:52 and they haven’t executed him yet. Could that be a good sign? Hopefully.

  6. Thank you TomCat for bringing this streaming to us.  When I can’t be in Georgia, it gives me the opportunity to stand in solidarity with others who support Troy Anthony Davis and to stand  against the death penalty.

    ‘First they came’ . . .

First they came for the communists,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.

    Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

For those who support the death penalty and believe in the ‘eye for eye’ principle, I quote Mahatma Gandhi “An eye for an eye only makes the whole world blind.”

We still await the end of the vigil.

     21/09/11 8:50 pm PDT  Update

I am saddened and crying.  Troy Anthony Davis was murdered by the State of Georgia and pronounced dead at 11:08 EDT.  As announced by several people there, Troy said “They can take my body, but they can not take my soul because I gave it to God.”  As others urged, the fight against capital punishment in Georgia has just begun.  There are 34 states that have capital punishment in the US.  The number needs to be 24 or less to use the “cruel AND unusual treatment” as a way to stand against the death penalty in the rest of the US.

One other detail that came out earlier, the five most prolific countries using the death penalty are China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan and the United States of America.

Peace be uppon you Troy Anthony Davis, and upon your family.

  7. My heart is broken.
