If you have followed me for any length of time, you know that I’m a big fan of Elizabeth Warren, the champion of every day Americans, who is not afraid of Banksters. Yesterday evening I learned that Elizabeth Warren will indeed run for the Senate against Scott Brown (R-InsaniTEA). She will formerly announce her candidacy later today.
After weeks of testing the political waters, Elizabeth Warren, a Harvard Law School professor and Wall Street critic, will officially announce her run for the US Senate tomorrow morning against Republican incumbent Scott Brown.
A senior campaign adviser has confirmed to the Globe that Warren will launch her candidacy by greeting voters across the state, beginning with a morning visit to a Boston MBTA station. She will then head to New Bedford, Framingham, Worcester, and Springfield, making similar appearances shaking hands and greeting voters.
Warren will not make any formal statements or speeches, but her aides will put a video on her campaign website featuring the candidate talking about the major themes she will strike as a candidate.
“The pressures on middle class families are worse than ever, but it is the big corporations that get their way in Washington,” Warren says in the video, according to a partial script given to the Globe. “I want to change that. I will work my heart out to earn the trust of the people of Massachusetts.”
Warren’s entrance into the race has drawn keen interest from state and national Democratic leaders who feel that she could generate the necessary excitement – and funds – to give Brown a serious challenge.
He stunned the party establishment in January 2010 when he won the special election to replace a party icon, the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy. He is seeking his first full, six-year term next year… [emphasis added]

Rachel Maddow revealed that Elizabeth will give her the first interview after the formal announcement later today.

You’d better believe that I’ll be watching that interview!
Were it not for extreme incompetence on the part of the Democratic Party by taking the seat for granted, Scott “bagger” Brown would never befouled Teddy Kennedy’s Senate seat. It’s time to send him to the ranks of the unemployed, fumigate the seat, and welcome a real progressive to the Senate.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
It would be very good to have her in the Senate. We need more like her to fight for the people.
Agree!! A competent person , and it seems a fit for Kennedy’s old seat !
Amen!
(I hope it’s OK for a male to say: “You Go, Girl!”)
I’m copying this for Facebook. Good one!
Love it, Nameless. You will see that again!
She’ll make a good president when the time comes too.
ohhh I hadn’t thought of that
2016 works for me.
Campaign slogan: “A President that has a pair!”
Her time in the O administration was unexpectedly short and due to obstacles ineffective! Finally MA (my home state) may return to the days of intellectual liberal inspiration! I love her – am looking forward to the interview on Maddow – if the country put out more like Warren I’d be hard pressed to get involved in the political nightmare called elections – but the election biz needs an overhaul – even O – has the “fighting” spirit, but 2 years too late! Warren deserves a seat!
She does.
Teddy Kennedy, as I remember him, was liberal, passionate about economic and social justice issues, and about the ‘man on the street’. He championed health care and education, and had a gift of easy talk with people. With 42 years in the senate before he died, he obviously struck a chord with the people of Massacusetts. If Warren can carry his legacy and add to it from her own stores, she will do well. The Senate is in need of passionate people who are squarely fixed on the average person, not big money.
Very well said, Lynn.
This is wonderful news!
Senator Elizabeth Warren!
Mitch McConnell will be pi$$ed.
Welcome Namaimo! 🙂
Right on! I expect her to bully Bought Bitch Mitch.
