Yesterday I had a few chores to get done and I rested. The heat wave continues, but my little AC has kept it 85° or less at my desk. In the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb, the Broncos played the Sea Chickens and beat them. That’s religious ecstasy. I’m current on replies. Tomorrow is a chores and paperwork day.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today it took me 4:19 (average 5:20). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Irene Update:
Please stay safe.
Short Takes:
From CNN: Early voting began Saturday for the special election in Nevada’s 2nd congressional district, with the final voting date set for September 13.
Then-Rep. Dean Heller left the seat in May when Gov. Brian Sandoval appointed him to replace former Republican Sen. John Ensign, who resigned amid an ethics scandal.
Democrats hope their candidate, Nevada state treasurer Kate Marshall, can take over the longtime, right-leaning district.
We need a something we lack, a Democratic Senator from Nevada.
From Think Progress: A statement put out by chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat’s office claims that U.S. Consul General Daniel Rubinstein told him that the U.S. would cut off aid to the Palestinian Authority if it takes its case for statehood to the U.N. General Assembly.
This is obscene. And people wonder why so many middle eastern Muslims dislike the US.
From Crooks and Liars: Puerto Rican State Senator Roberto Arango is, of course, a Republican, which means he has to be anti-gay. Arango is so anti-gay and so disgusted by the acts of gays that he has to put his photographs up on gay site for gay dudes. How Republican of him.
GOP: the party no closet is big enough to hold. His orientation is fine. His hypocrisy isn’t.

……..maybe, when the Republican Senator, Robert Arango, posted his picts on that gay site, he was trying to “cure the gay” like Marcus Bachmann does. Wonder if Gov. Perry ever heard that joke about the Texas Aggie digging around in the closet, looking for an extra pair of shoes……? That would be a funny one to tell at his next prayer meeting! 😈
5:38 on that puzzle.
LOL!
Not bad!
5:11 I had a tough time with this one. I am 73 out of 240 (304).
Today I left a three second crack in the door.
6:22 I stink today!
That was a pretty tough one Patty. Don’t give up.

That’s pure and simple blackmail! The Palestinian Authority is charged with the care of the Palestinian people, not the American people. And yes, the American government is charged with the care of the American people. These two are not mutally exclusive. By supporting statehood for Palestine, perhaps the US will get the chance to help the Palestinians build a nation of peace. By not support statehood, all the US will reap is more animosity, more tension. Quit the blackmail!
I completely agree.
Tom, you make such slick “cartoons.” I keep looking for the little guys with ears and short pants and not these sophisticated photos. I am baffled by so many things in today’s society, like the proliferation of nuclear plants. Just how blown up and radiated do we have to get before we realize we made a mistake when we went in that direction before we figured out what to do with the eternally radiation-emitting waste products. And we keep on building them! Somebody in the cockpit needs a co-pilot really badly!!
Today, for the first time since you introduced me to the jigsaw puzzles, I did the puzzle in 14 seconds UNDER average! That may be no big deal to you ‘champ,’ but I never thought I’d make it close. Fun time! Thanks, guy!
Welcome Caitlin. 🙂
Thanks. The hardest part id finding the pictures on which to base them. I agree.
Congrats ❗ Way to go! That took me nearly a year.
