Of the mainstream networks, I like MSNBC the best, because they have Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell and Ed Schultz. However, they make up for it by featuring Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan in the morning. As wing-nuts go, Scarborough is probably more sane than most, but Buchanan is more typical of Republican politicians and pundits. He is notorious for frequent racist comments, such as referring to to the recent victory of Republican terrorism over Obama as “nailing the coon skin to the wall.” Now he has even put his racism in writing.
MSNBC contributor and long-standing bigot Pat Buchanan has a new book coming out called: Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025? This upbeat future “best-seller” will hit the shelves in October, but this morning, Politico Playbook provided those waiting with race-baited breath a preview of the wisdom within. Chapter 4, entitled “The End of White America,” lauds:
“[The] radicalization of the working and middle class, such as occurred in the Truman-McCarthy era, during the George Wallace campaigns, and in the anti-amnesty firestorm that killed the Bush-Kennedy-McCain push for a path to citizenship for illegal aliens.”.
To Buchanan — a member [racists delinked] of the Sons of Confederate Veterans — these “movements” shared a “populist rage” and a “sense that they are losing their country. And they are right.”… [emphasis original]

This man has a right to say what he wants to say, and I defend it, but people, like him, that foster hatred should not have a microphone to broadcast it. Ed Schultz was suspended for two weeks for far less. Why hasn’t Buchannan for any one of his racist comments?
The irony is that George Wallace, to whom Buchannan refers, learned that his hatred was wrong and changed, nut Buchannan never has.

Man is this guy a butt-head or what?! One thing to be said about him is that he is consistent – you get what you hear and see! He hasn’t changed a wit since he ran for pres – in my neolithic age – what 40 yrs ago? He ran on racist agenda then and all that’s missing now is the “cone-hood”! I think there was a problem of arrested development along the line there. He was all for Palin – still is, except I think his new “calendar girl” (pin up edition) is Bachnut – I think he must have moist dreams of these 2 women (ugh! how offensive is my imagination’!). Joe isn’t nearly as bad – he reminds me of the moderate kind of Republicans of yesteryear, when Nixon (the socialist) was creating the EPA!
Joe is bad enough in his own right, byr does not hold a candle to Buchanan.
Media Matters has put together an extensive compendium documenting the longstanding Bigotry Of Pat Buchanan.
Excellent link! Thanks Nameless.
Someone who has a long history of racism and bigoted remarks is now old , senile and continues his racist , bigoted meanderings ; We are surprised ?
Why should he reform and “get saved ” ? He is making a lot of money -!! A good question ;-; Who buys his books ? Who pays his salary ? Why ??
We should not be surprised, Phyllis, but we should object to his microphone.
