I’m quote late in getting today’s articles up, because of the heat. Yesterday the heat was oppressive. It was officially 84° range, but the temperature in the enclosed area outside my windows reached 129°. It reached 102° inside, at at 2:00 AM is still 92°. When I finally fell asleep, I overslept and got a late start. I’m current with replies.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Yesterday it took me 4:49 (average 4:16). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From NY Times: When a group of activists proposed banning circumcision in San Francisco last fall, many people simply brushed them aside. Even in that liberal seaside city, it seemed implausible that thousands of people would support an effort to outlaw an ancient ritual that Jews and Muslims believe fulfills a commandment issued by God.
But last month, the group collected the more than 7,100 signatures needed to get a measure on the fall ballot that would make it illegal to snip the foreskin of a minor within city limits. Now a similar effort is under way in Santa Monica to get such a measure on the ballot for November 2012.
Nazi Germany did the same thing to oppress Jews, but here, I think the target of these Republicans is Muslims.
From LA Times: Prospective Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman said Saturday that he won’t try to compete in the Iowa caucuses early next year.
No surprise here. Likewise, I’m sure Cain will skip the KKK Kaucus.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Isn’t there some way to get cooler outside air into your place? Window? Door? Or do they all open to the enclosed area? That sounds unlivable. 🙁
Nope. The closest source of outside air is a window in the hallway, fifty feet away and on the other side of a closed fire door.
You definitely need an air conditioner. Temperatures that high are not good for your health.
4:40 I stunk too…just slightly less than you. I am not sure I believe the 4:16 average. I think this is the first time we both have missed the average on the same puzzle. In fact, I don’t remember you ever going over the average! I’m now 49 out of 156 (314).
You may be right. Today, I think you’re in trouble.
I had a wopping 7:20. I really stink!
Don’t worry Patty or Jerry, it would take me over 2 hours to solve. And then I’d just quit. And I sure as hell wouldn’t post my time on here! 😆
LOL!
Give it time Patty. 🙂
I wish I could get you an air conditioner that would not blow out all your power, but alas, I can’t.
Thanks for the thought, Lisa.
Ok, let’s leave that decision to the parents – period. More government interference. 😡
Oh, that’s just so sad that they won’t be there. 😥
Unless we “go to the tape” to get it for you. 😈
My saying for the day “Cheney has a permanent case of PMS and it can’t be cured.” This was meant to be a factual statement. 😉
Amen.
Amen.
LOL! Love it!
