Another month is coming to an end, kids are getting out of school, and blogs normally slow down for the summer months, as people spend more time away from their computers.   Yesterday I rested, and felt frustrated over continued pain and difficulty eating.  Today I have paperwork and cleaning to do.  I am current on replies.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today it took me 3:59 (average 5:02).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Deutch Welle: But in the wake of the tsunami and the Fukushima disaster in Japan, the rejection of nuclear energy by the German public has become even more pronounced.  Bearing that and a series of important state elections in mind, Merkel and other leading Christian Democrat and FDP political leaders have instead done an about-face, swinging toward a rapid nuclear phaseout.

America should take heed to Germanyโ€™s good sense.

From NY Daily News: Rep. Anthony Weiner isn’t laughing at what he’s calling an Internet "prank" – and he’s hired an attorney to explore civil or criminal charges.

Weiner’s office is playing off the lewd photo posted on his Twitter account Friday as the handiwork of a rabble-rousing hacker, but says the congressman can’t take any chances.

Weiner should sue the Republican bastard that did thie.

From Washington Post: A Government Accountability Office investigation set for release Tuesday found that at least 3,700 recipients of $24 billion in contracts and grants from the ec the corporationomic stimulus program owe more than $750 million to the government.

Corporate income taxes were $417 million, or about 55 percent of the estimated unpaid taxes, the GAO said. Payroll taxes were $207 million, or about 27 percent, of the total; unpaid excise, unemployment and other taxes totaled an additional $133 million.

Iโ€™m waiting for the Republicans to introduce a bill allowing the corporations to keep the $417 million.

May the last day of May be the first day of the end of the Republican Party.  (That was intended to be a factual statement.)

  1. 4:15 Not quite good enough. I am 48 out of 151 (318).

  2. By now I suspect we’ve all seen the lewd picture that hackers posted purporting it to be Rep. Weiner’s weiner. But if not, here’s a link to it from a reputable website:
    http://gawker.com/5806545/did-anthony-weiner-tweet-pic-of-his-weiner

And if that picture is not as large as you’d like, just rub it a little … and it’ll get bigger.

(Sorry, but sometimes cheap, adolescent humor is just hard to pass up.)

  3. Wow, paperwork and cleaning – sounds like a lot of fun!

Well, at least Weiner’s weiner is big than any Reubs that I’ve seen! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Good for the Germans- at least someone has some sense.

    See above.

Wow, that’s a lot of cash that could go towards the deficit! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

That cartoon is great – only it should show them running towards the tornado. Or like one of those idiots who like to film them. ๐Ÿ™„

Let’s hope that this is the end of the Repubs. This Ryan budget is going to kill them, but they are too stupid to realize it. ๐Ÿ™„

    • Oh yeah. Today, I’ll be swamped.

      Amen,

Actually it’s a drop in the bucket.

      You won’t like today’s news.

      Amen.
