Yesterday I called my dentist.  He asked a couple of questions and told me it’s normal.  Then I had one of the worst COPD attacks I have had in months.  My chest is raw.  Nevertheless, I’m current on comments.

jig Zone Puzzle:

Today it took me 3:33 (average 4:41).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From PR Newswire: Amnesty International will observe its 50th anniversary by issuing a global call to action on Saturday, May 28, the day in 1961 when its founder published an appeal for amnesty for six prisoners unjustly imprisoned; the enormous response led to the founding of Amnesty International, today the world’s largest human rights organization. The birthday comes as the group’s defining tactic of collective action is validated as a model of transformative change across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

What an excellent organization they have been over the years.

From Think Progress: Last weekend, Rep. Dan Webster (R-FL) appeared on “Good Life 45,” a televangelist program based near his central-Florida district. At one point during the discussion, which was centered around ways to reduce government spending, Webster recalled that many of his constituents had asked about cutting foreign aid. Webster explained that the government cannot “get rid of all foreign aid” because that would endanger money for Israel.

Rather than making a policy-based argument to back up his firm belief in giving billions in foreign aid to Israel, Webster said the money is necessary to ensure “God’s hand” stays with America. “I love giving money to Israel,” Webster exclaimed. If we end the assistance to Israel, Webster continued, “we lose God’s hand and we’re in big trouble”.

For this Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian to base governance on dogma violates the Establishment Clause.

From The Hill: Republicans on the Committee on House Administration have voted to eliminate the independent commission that was established to address election problems after the contested 2000 presidential contest between George W. Bush and Al Gore.

The reason Republicans want to do away with an agency to prevent election theft should be obvious.

For safe-sex, wrap a Republican in a giant condom.  (That was not intended to be a factual statement).

  1. Damn it Tom…slow down.

  2. Me thinks mayhaps Mr. Webster has never bothered to read a bible. The question is does he even own one…if not the Gideon’s will send him one for free. Free postage even.

  3. If you keep getting up in the middle of the night to do your research and post, then you deserve to be sick, dumass. I can wait (and everyone else can too) for you to post at some reasonable hour, like 9 am. You’re not 20 anymore, dude. You have to take care of yourself. I swear I’m coming out there and the mom voice will be used.

A big yahoo for Amnesty International – they do excellent work.

Ok, if you can’t justify giving money to Israel in English, then they don’t deserve the money. And don’t use God as an excuse.

Umm, the reason you want to get rid of that is so you can steal more elections. We know the truth.

    Great cartoon.

When I was in college we had a party with one of the fraternities on campus. They had themed rooms. In one (where my bf was, I was dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz), all the guys were dressed in giant condoms and there had to be a thousand condoms taped to the walls and ceiling. They had a fog machine in there. I can’t tell you how funny it was, but to see those guys dressed in condoms was hilarious. They won the award for best room. And they were serving drinks that looked like semen, but actually tasted pretty good. OMG, I laughed my ass off when I went in there! 😆

    • Lisa, these are my natural hours. I tried to switch back to business hours and couldn’t. I get my sleep in the late afternoon and evening and in the morning when I’m done. Thanks for caring.

      Amen.

      Amen.

      BIG Amen.

      Thanks!

Ummm…. have you talked to a therapist about this? 😉 LOL!

  4. 3:54 A little long…again! I am 47 out of 146 (322).

  5. Are you insinuating that republicans are big pricks?!? 😈

    • Well, Rep. Webster – who just can’t give enough of our tax dollars to Israel – may not know where “God’s hand” has been, but we all know where Israel’s prick has been since 1948.
