Yesterday I was so sore and tired that I slept most of the day.  Today is chores around the house, and I am current on replies.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today it took me 3:29 (average 5:05).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Reuters: U.N. human rights investigators called on the United States on Friday to disclose whether there had been any plan to capture Osama bin Laden and if he was offered any "meaningful prospect of surrender and arrest."

Given that US troops, according to what I’ve heard, had been fired upon, I think it was justified, but I welcome an UN investigation, lest conspiracy theorists run amok.

From Think Progress: Senate Republicans have introduced legislation to abolish the Environmental Protection Agency, established 40 years ago by President Richard Nixon to give Americans clean air and water. The bill, introduced by Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC), would merge the EPA, which enforces environmental laws, with the Department of Energy, which manages nuclear energy and energy research, into one department.

I doubt this will pass even with DINO help.

From Crooks and Liars: During the first GOP presidential primary debate in South Carolina, Governor Tim Pawlenty is asked about his support for the teaching of creationism in public schools and whether he personally believes in the theory. Pawlenty said that he supported local school boards making those decisions and then tried to change the subject before he answered whether he personally supported it.

Love it!  Paws is afraid to alienate Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians, as well as sane people.

  1. When the UN starts funding the war against all the worlds terrorists then they have a purchased right to question anything. until then, in this case they can just stay the hell out of it and stick with feeding kids. I don’t care if he was on his knees pleading for his life he is better dead and not alive to use a courtroom or tribunal for a pulpit. Dead he eventually fades to more than he deserves, a page on wikipedia.

  2. 3:28 Finally, the one second is on my side this time. I am now 44 out of 127 (346).

  3. Remember those annoying billboards with that goofy picture of Dubya waving and the caption reading: “Miss me Yet?”
Well, we can finally offer an answer: “You Can Be Damn Sure Bin Laden Does!”
In fact I put up two pictures of a poster and billboard mock-up over at Daily Kos (yeah, I’m dmhlt 66 over there) if you want a good chuckle:

  4. I beat you there TC – I was awake for all of 2 hours yesterday. I woke up at 12pm, decided I needed a nap at 1, woke up again at 9 and was back in bed at 10. Slept til 7 when the dog woke me up today.

Hey UN, we’ve been looking for this asshole for almost 10 years. He got more than he deserved which was one between the eyes. πŸ™„

Senator Burr, you sir, may bite me. Last time I remember, Nixon was a Repub, the last normal one anyway. At least he got impeached for an actual crime. πŸ˜†

T-Paw can’t decide what he believes in unless someone tells him. πŸ™„

Yeah, we’ll just tell them we amended the Constitution for that. They must have missed that day on Fucked up News. πŸ˜†

    • Dang Lisa! Those are princess hours.

See my reply to Mark. It’s about who we are, not about what he deserves.

Lisa, if he does, you might get rabies. Nixon was not actually impeached. He resigned because he was about to be.

Republican candidates face such a tough decision on whether to goose-step with Limbaugh or Beck.

That day was never on. πŸ˜‰
