Yesterday was busy. I spent several hours working on my Windows Update problem. Microsoftβs first set of tech support suggestions did not work. I spent a couple hours looking for a denturist. I spent a couple researching antivirus software. Norton interferes with IE, and my subscription is up in a month. Today I expect more of the same. I am current on comments.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today it took me 3:08 (average 4:27). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From AP/Google: Republican John Ensign of Nevada apologized Monday to an all but empty Senate chamber for his extramarital affair with a former aide and hoped aloud that his legislative record would speak as his legacy.
For his sake, I hope he is remembered for his adultery and crimes covering it up. His legislative record is a far worse legacy.
From Alternet: In order to stop Planned Parenthood from being able to distribute them, lawmakers in Oklahoma are mulling legislation that would make nutrition vouchers inaccessible to thousands of low-income mothers.
Every penny Democrats spend on hungry mothers and children is a penny Republicans canβt spend on millionaires.
Cartoon:
Tuesday is introduce a bagger to Elvis day. (That was not intended to be a factual statement.)

I hope this poor soul gets the help he desperately needs.
A Republican Congressman?
I am very happy with ESET NOD 32 as my antivirus. I also just bought an iMac and don’t have to worry about that crap…on the iMac, anyway.
I looked at that Jerry, but devised on Lavasoft’s Ad-aware Pro. It was the only one to beat NOD 32 in both PC Magazines and PC World’s tests, and the full scan found and eliminated four viruses Norton let through.
Good luck with that Ensign,
Well, OK, now you’re going to starve the babies born to poor mothers? How humanitarium of you.
Osama is on the down elevator for sure. No virgins for him!
NOT!
That’s the Republican way.
I bet he gets to rub elbows with Bush and Cheney.
Curious WRT your Windows Update snafu. I’m running Windows 7 and IE8 and also have Norton Internet Security on a new 64-bit Sony Vaio. I have had NO problems … until I finally installed the IE9 that Update keeps offering. Turns out that Java and Adobe Flash don’t do well with the IE9 on a 64-bit format, so I had to uninstall IE9 – which was a bit tricky – and it defaulted back to IE8 – and everything now is hunky-dory.
Both vendors said they’re working on compatibility w/ the 64-bit computers.
Nameless, about five days ago an Update failed to install. It and the other four updates with it have downloaded and failed every day since.
I’m running Windows 7 on a year old 64 bit Lenovo Ideapad. Java and Flash work fine in IE9 for me, but I prefer Firefox.
3:42 I have a hard time beating you when your time is around 4 minutes. Get close to 3 minutes and you are unbeatable…as I have proved today. I am 43 out of 123 (350)
In that case, I’ll apologize your grief today in advance. π
