All across the nation, Republican governors are reaping vengeance on voters that were foolish enough to put them in office. In Maine, Paul LePage is trashing childrenβs safety, trying to cut Medicaid, and assaulting unions to keep from being outdone. Why? To provide tax cuts for the rich, of course.
When last I checked in on Maine’s new teabagging governor, he wanted to repeal the state regulation that prevented using toxic chemical bisphenol-A in baby bottles. (Says there was no "science" behind the ban.)
Now, under Paul LePage’s proposed budget, teachers and other state employees will be required to increase their contributions to the pension system, from 7.65 percent of their salary to 9.65 percent. Of course, the teabagger governor has exempted himself! And is this to build up the state’s pension system? Nope. It’s to pay for $203 million in tax cuts for Maine residents in the top 10% income and estate bracketsβ¦ [emphasis added]

Of course LePage is just repeating the same endless stream of Republican lies. These miscreants are sounding like a broken record.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
This man has also claimed the right to exempt advisory boards he is creating from open government rules.. check out Sunlight Foundation, a watchdog organization keeping tabs on teabag governors who are eroding the right to know by the public… Utah, Idaho, Pennsylvania, New York, New Mexico, Tennessee to name a few have rammed through legislation with no public input that has changed state law to protect these guys from scrutiny…
Welcome Helen! π
