The big push back hasn’t even happened yet because the next wave is going to be even larger than the last two. Banks currently hold 4-5 million properties nation wide and they are getting ready too get them off the books. Fannie and Freddie have become extremely selective so now when the foreclosure fights start they will do every cheat, say any lie and produce any ginned up paper to close the books on the fighters.
They could avoid it all by simply reducing the principle to current market value and take a look again every five years at conditions to see what the valuation of the house is. It is expected to take 15-20 years if ever for most foreclosed homes to recover their re crash vale. If they would rather than foreclose HONESTLY work to keep the houses inhabited by the owner then maybe most people (I still would) wouldn’t think the banks as vile.
But Mark, wouldn’t that cut into bonus $$$? Can’t have that! 🙄
