A Texas judge has just sentenced Tom βThe Hammerβ Delay to prison for three years. I hope this criminal Republican will take advantage of opportunities for rehabilitation and make amends for his crimes against the American people.

And true to form – just like the rabid right-wing Teabagging-RepubliKKKaners are doing right now in denying any culpability for the Tucson murders related to their endless hate-mongering – Delay’s only statement:
“I can’t be remorseful for something I don’t think I did.”
Kwame Kilpatrick got 180 days for perjury relating to a law suit regarding an 8 million dollar settlement to three cops who he had fired or demoted. Course then he came in front of the judge for parole violation and pulled a 3-5 and now has been hit with 18 federal conspiracy and corruption charges. I wonder if Delay and his selling of the American people to lobbyists was as thoroughly investigated as was Kilpatrick’s? Not that most of us in Detroit aren’t glad to be well rid of the criminal cabal just saying because both Federal investigations were begun under a Right leaning (Bush) administration.
Three years — that’s it??? Well, it’s better than I thought he’d get, but nowhere near enough.
Tom, I agree with you completely, but I am not holding by breath until he serves a single day.
Ditto to both.

That is always the Republican response to accountability.
Glad he is being punished, finally.
Sadly, the punishment has been DeLayed. π

If DeLay were black and Democrat, he would have gotten life.
I think I read he was able to put up bond pending his appeal. This guy will never serve one single day.
You are correct, Leslie. Thanks. And only $10,000.
