One of the issues for which the Republican Party keeps moving the goal posts is DADT. They continue the lie that the military cannot implement the policy without doing irreparable harm to unit cohesion, compromising our troops’ ability to function as a fighting force. Sen. Mark Udall put the kybosh on that Lie.
Amanda Terkel catches a historic moment in the fight for gay rights, as all our military leaders admit to Sen. Mark Udall that they can implement the repeal of DADT and make it work:
In an important moment, Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) asked each service chief to go down the line and answer whether, if DADT is repealed, their branch can implement it and make it work. Every single chief answered in the affirmative.
John McCain continues to buckle under to the pressure of the radical right Tea Party movement and still vows to try and undermine the process.…

I find it particularly sad that once upon a time, John ‘McConJob’ McCain used to be a credible Republican. Any more, credible and Republican are mutually exclusive terms.

See John and the rest of them know they are a bunch of cocksuckers and they think that makes them gay (it doesn’t) they are just afraid of being outed as liberal on any issue that might infuriate them who they have to blow to get a vote so they can retain that feeling that they run America and not the people who are really supposed to be the ultimate authority of the direction of the nation. I wonder what it feels like to be in the Sovereign class?
Interesting notion. John McCloset… Ya think? 😉
It was rumored that John McCain collaborated with the enemy so he could get medical treatment for the injuries he sustained when he was shot down. That would make him a Traitor because he betrayed his brothers in uniform for medical treatment.
John McCain is not a war hero. Audie Murphy and Sgt Rutledge were War Heroes, John McCain was just a prisoner of war who collaborated with the enemy and is a Traitor.
It is indeed a sad day when Our Military is deathly afraid of Gays more so then Terrorists. What will our military do if it turns out that the Taliban and Al Qaeda were Gay. We would lose because the Military would be afraid that they would look at their junk.
I have heard that too, but have no proof on which to base an application. But we have had no traitors in America since 1945. Without a declaration of war by Congress there can be no Treason, per Article III of the Constitution.
The depth of depravity to which McCain has descended is simply mind-boggling. Even his wife took a stand against his homophobic hate-mongering when, in the NOH8 anti-bullying YouTube video, she takes a stand countering John’s by stating: “Our political and religious leaders tell LGBT youth that they have no future… … They can’t serve our country openly … Our government treats the LGBT community like second-class citizens.”
Most prominent public figures in their later years begin to see the folly of their ways. Whether it be George C. Wallace, Strom Thurmond or Robert Byrd rejecting their racist segregationist ways, or Vietnam War Sec. of Defense Robert McNamara becoming a “peacenik” of sorts. They all moved from earlier bitterness to broaden their world-views – if for no other reason than to appeal to the judgment of history.
But a very grumpy McCain is clearly shrinking into an abyss of bitterness. It’s sad … just very, very sad.
I think McConJob is suffering the mental aftereffects of years of being tortured.
DADT was never about military effectiveness or unit cohesion — it’s about homophobia, plain and simple.
Bingo!
