Yesterday they fixed the leak. For the first time in a week, I could sleep without having to get up to protect my possessions when they ran the heat here. My place was full of workmen all morning. Nevertheless, I did manage to get in to reply to comments. Today will be little better, because my computer area is still unusable. A work crew will be here to patch the 3’ x 6’ hole in my ceiling, which will take at least a day. So I hope to reply to comments, but a visiting other blogs remains unlikely. I shall ASAP! I miss it!
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today it took me 3:37 (average 5:18). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From Think Progress: Two weeks ago, Tea Party Nation President Judson Phillips hosted the program and discussed changes that he felt should be made to voting rights in the United States. He explained that the founders of the country originally put “certain restrictions on who gets the right to vote.” He continued, “One of those was you had to be a property owner. And that makes a lot of sense, because if you’re a property owner you actually have a vested stake in the community.
Bear in mind that this kind of Teabuggery rarely occurs without the blessing of their Republican masters.
From Boston Globe: Ending a ban on gays serving openly in the armed services would not harm long-term military effectiveness, the Pentagon said yesterday in a long-awaited report that is expected to speed a vote on the repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell’’ policy.
Needless to say, the Republicans who objected to repealing DADT, because the military had not recommended it, are scurrying to come up with other excuses to balk without admitting their hatred of the LGBT community.
From Crooks and Liars: BECK: I would ask Mr. Dean to help me out. What is it that we make up?
I would ask you to just take a moment here. Do you really believe that I could or anybody here at Fox News could just make things up and remain on the air?
Anyone who questions whether or not disseminating outrageous lies on the air need only watch either an Extenze commercial or Fox News. Foxtopia is the Extenze of political commentary.

Why is it happy hump day when the American people keep getting humped?

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
4:59 I beat the average and you still beat me by almost a minute and a half. Good job!
Thanks Jerry. That one had patterns that enabled me to visualize where most of the pieces should fit without the usual trial and error.
On DADT: To get an idea of how the Reps make up new reasons for being for or against something, just look at Iraq. Started with WMD, then Hussein is a bad guy, then spreading democracy. Not sure what lameass excuse they’ll be blabbing now. They firmly said they wanted the military assessment. Now they’ve got it.
Marva, there;s an easy way to plan for that. Whenever Republicans open their mouths, they are doing one of three things: eating, drinking, or, most of all, lying.
Tea anyone?
Judson Phillips is a fool, so all our military personnel, firemen, policemen and elderly who don’t own property can’t vote?
How about all people who have filed bankruptcy can’t vote (like Judson Phillips), or those you fail to answer questions about our country history can’t run for public office (like Sarah Palin or Christine O’donnell), how about that, please.
So what do you think these losers want next, SLAVES?
