Target, as it happens, has a quite good corporate record on LGBT issues.
Although I appreciate the apology, Target should have known who they are supporting. Our only defense against Citizens United is to buy blue, not from companies that support Republicans.
From PFAW: Today, by a vote of 63 to 37, the Senate approved the nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court.
Although Kagan was not my choice, I applaud her confirmation. Ben Nelson (NE) was the only Democrat to vote No.
From Think Progress: Former President Bush has been working on a memoir about his tenure in the White House, titled “Decision Points,” that is scheduled to be released this fall. According to friends of the former president who spoke with the Financial Times, Bush insisted that the book’s release date be pushed back until after the November elections, apparently out of concern that the publication of a book dwelling on his deeply unpopular presidency could hurt Republicans at the polls.
I’ve heard some speculation about new revelations, but expect none. I think that, since the Republicans are running on Bush policies, they fear reminding people what they were and how they trashed our nation.

Well, at least they (Target) apologized. Now claw that money back!
I think Elena will be a good addition although a little too centrist for my taste.
“Decision Points” – I decided to fuck up the economy, give my fat cat friends tax cuts and lie us into 2 wars. That’s the book in one sentence.
They can’t really do that. The only way I see they can make amends would be to to fund Emmert’s opponant equally.
She does have a disarming quality that may prove influential.
What about Katrina, torture, politicizing DOJ… etc., etc., etc.?
The thing about book releases (I study the publishing biz) is that ARCs (advance reader copies) come out months before a book’s scheduled release date. This means that the Dems will most likely get a copy from somewhere and can cherry-pick (what’s good for goose-stepper is good for the gander) the best of GW’s screwups. How he puts them in the book and how they really happened historically.
Marva, I didn’t think they were trying to keep it secret. They just didn’t want it released. Anyone who reads it will be much more likely to vote for a Democrat.
Well, Huffington Post would take strong exception to TPM’s characterizing Target as having a “good corporate record on LGBT issues.”
