I apologize that do to the extreme heat here, I have been unable to do the research needed to post today.  Even at 4:15 AM, the temperature in my apartment is still 94°, and I am heat exhausted.  Today will not be quite as hot, si I hope to be back to normal tomorrow.

  1. Rest. Take it esay. A cool bath and your favorite beverage.

    Great posts on the Constitution!

  2. This heat has been horrible. Am just catching up with my blog reading so have read back through your recent posts – great idea to go through the Constitution bit by bit. It should be very educational! Hope the heat lets up soon for you. It’s a little better here at our cabin today – not as hot and there is a nice breeze.

  3. My condolences on the heat wave. For me (Port Angeles, WA, near the Canadian border) it was a chance to warm up. This place must have the coldest summers in the world. It doesn’t get very cold in the winter, and then it warms up by about 10 or 15 degrees during the “summer.” We’ve had 2 days in a row of 84 degrees. It was nice but now I’m ready to go back to a high of 62 every day.

  4. A big part of this week for me was trying to find away to keep the house cool without contributing to blowing the electrical grid, keeping plants alive, and conserving water as much as possible. Three separate heatwaves in three weeks, three straight days of 100 plus temps, though it is breaking at around 90 now.

It was so hot…..(how hot was it?). It was so hot a couple of hawks landed on my sprinkler system and later took over the birdbath! No fear of humans whatsoever! Pics posted on my blog.

    Try and stay cool…and safe….TC!

  5. Get thee to an AC cooling station (mall, library, government building – hell, I’ll even add WalMart if it saves someone)! And hydrate, hydrate HYDRATE

    • Thanks, Nameless. I tried, but I have to lock the windows whenever I leave here, lest people come across the breezeway and help themselves. When I get back, the place is even more overheated, and these old lathe and plaster walls hold the heat in.

  6. We’ve had temps in the mid 90s. What always knocks you out here is the humidity – all four seasons of it.
Enjoyed your photos, Hugh Jee. Sounds like a good time for a movie or to wander around an airport watching the planes take off.

  7. Isn’t it great that Limbaugh and Beck assure us there’s no global warming? We know they probably have AC for their doghouses.
Tom Harper lives in what I would call a Paradise. We have a Paradise in Michigan, too, far away. I miss my Northwoods home…
Take care and keep by the fan. I have one three feet from my head now.

  8. I know how you feel… Florida can get pretty bad during the summers! Usually the hurricanes cool us down a bit but then it becomes hot AND humid…

    Hope it improves!

  9. Been a bad weekend down here both with the heat and a mental funk I can’t shake. Take care my friend.
